Still trying to figure it out myself. Of all the ones so far, this one makes the least sense.
Mourinho missed out on a grand total of one match against Wenger by being sacked last season so apparently that justifies calling it a reunion after 14 long months apart. |

Dover Athletic v Cambridge United - Thursday, 17 November 2016 - FA Cup BT Sport 1 / BT Sport 1 HD, BT Sport 4K UHD Presented by: Lynsey Hipgrave Guests: Luke Chadwick and Adam Virgo Commentators: Adam Summerton and Kevin Davies Reporter: Adam Summerton Quote:
Reshmin Chowdry is the reporter.
While I didn't see the coverage (so apologies if I am wrong in the case but the general point still stands as this has happened before), sounds like Summerton was just commentating. If you don't know who's doing a role, why not just leave that information and then do a separate post later with who it actually is rather than doing a guessing game? All you do when doing the latter is irritate other posters- it's pointless frankly. I actually try and defend you normally but I really don't see what you're trying to achieve with these sorts of posts. Quote:
I wish Sky would stop this recent trend of giving big games a name - Man U v Arsenal is now "ReUnited".
FFS, what is this all about? Can't the game sell itself now? Does seem a bit desperate too for what is at the end of the day when you look at current positions a 4th v 6th game in November. Trying to find any sort of logic in the 'ReUnited' slogan - perhaps the 'Re' stands for revenge (as Arsenal haven't won in the PL at Old Trafford for 10 years/Wenger hasn't beaten Mourinho in the PL - though that ignores other competitions like the FA Cup win for Arsenal 18 months ago/Arsenal beating Chelsea in the Community Shield little over a year ago) and United stands for well Manchester United. But that's me really stretching the name a bit too far and trying to find any sort of meaning in what is probably a nickname a Sky exec came up with in a meeting. |

In The Times article on Gerrard/MK Dons, it says he will be appearing on BT in the coming weeks, no surprise there
He didn't exactly stand out to make when he did punditry previously but then again he only did a few games and did OK. |

The Manchester derby would've justified the reunited tag more, if managers are central to Sky's thinking.
Maybe Sky will release a DVD box set of these at the end of the season. "The Jose Mourinho Collection" Featuring... - Derby Day - Red Monday - The Return - ReUnited - and more! The star of the show hasn't performed too well in these games thus far...

Think I'm right in saying that all the branded matches have involved Mourinho so far.

Super Sunday coverage on the 26th won't need a channel change, Sky are simulcasting the F1 but on Sky Sports 2/Mix now.

Did they really brand derby day as, erm, 'Derby Day'?
Most other outlets went with Pep v José. http://myclubontv.co.uk/DerbyDay.jpg Kind of ironic if they didn't hype it up quite so much, given that it was the biggest clash of them all. Giving games titles may have been a brainwave that came slightly further down the line. Not that a game of this magnitude needed any selling. Everyone would've watched it anyway for the fixture alone. |

A lovely correction in The Times today: 'The email inadvertently sent by Graeme Reid-Davies to 50 BBC colleagues in 2001 said that he thought Andy Gray and Jonathan Pearce were “both crap”, not that they were “both c***s” (News, Nov 15). We are pleased to correct the record and apologise for our mistake. Mr Reid-Davies has asked us to make clear that the original email was a joke, and says that the recipients did not include Messrs Gray and Pearce as we reported.'

Does this SSN-esque filling of the screen with information panels always happen in the build-up to Sky's Saturday lunchtime match?

Sky using a SSNHQ layout on screen for the build-up with a rolling list of today's fixtures/team news on the bottom and stats of Man United V Arsenal on the right and news in the bottom-middle. Of course if you haven't noticed, Sky are using this setup for the ATP World Tour Finals.
Simon Thomas is with Graeme Souness, Ryan Giggs and Thierry Henry. |
