Not sure on the Saturday games (but I can't remember them being there before) but I know on the World Tour Finals tennis this week they seemed to have SSN-esque graphics.
All felt a bit unnecessary on that.

Not sure what's got into Sky this season - a lot of the changes they've made this season to their football coverage seem pointless at best.

Hmm; seems like an effort to create some sort of harmonious look between their event coverage itself and SSN.

Goodness knows how that benefits the viewer, though.

To be honest I find it pretty useful in some ways to get some information. You do wonder though how we would react though if BT used this sort of layout..

Another trouble is the Sky Sports DOG on the upper left overlapping with the main graphics a bit.

It's useful to have the team news rolling along the bottom of the screen for those just tuning in but the rest is unnecessary.

BT IIRC have got a lot of criticism for using a L graphic when non-live programming is shown.

How cheap and Tacky..

Hope this isn't the norm otherwise I will only watch the game from now on.

I know they do it for the World Tour Finals in tennis but there is a lot more info with that, rankings, the match through the week etc.

With all that crap on screen I have switched it off and will just watch the game. BT sport 3 has this sort of thing and people hate it. Truly awful thanks SKy Sports

These are absolutely awful and incredibly distracting. Sky need to get rid as soon as possible. What an awful addition to their coverage!

And while I'm having a little rant, they need to stop branding individual games. It's something you'd expect in America. The ones they've done this to so far haven't lived up to the hype during the actual game (I.e that 0-0 at Anfield).

What's with the obsession of everybody using Ryan Giggs on punditry too? He added very little on ITV the last week. Makes very basic points. Suppose he's better than Yorke.

This looks terrible and will make people think it's Sky Sports News

We pay extra for Sky Sports yet now they want to turn it into Sky Sports News!

My friend is in the pub and he text me to say that people are shouting at the bar staff to turn over from Sky Sports News to the football!

Simon Thomas is with Graeme Souness, Ryan Giggs and Thierry Henry.”

Commentary by Martin Tyler and Gary Neville. Jamie Redknapp in the third man role.

Geoff Shreeves is pitchside.

Thankfully the on-screen graphics have gone.

Sky were posting about who had the bigger online presence on social media, Ibra or Ozil.

They have lost the plot, BT would have been slammed for this nonsense.

It doesn't help that all the games they have nicked are all games involving Manchester United, 'Reunited' sounds incredibly biased to Man United as well.

The F1 promo though is much better, it's being nicknamed 'Duel In The Desert' and sounds so much better than what Sky can give for PL games and makes sense for the following reasons:

1. It is a duel for the world championship.
2. The track is desert-based.

They also had an utterly meaningless stat on the news 'L' - Arsenal have been behind for a total of 59 minutes this season, the lowest in the league.

A team could, at the end of the season, have been behind for a total 38 minutes. But if all 38 were the final minute of injury time...

Gary Neville talks rubbish too. He stated in the first half that Martial has played terrible so far for MUFC. GN does not not know that MUFC's attacking players are played out of position for many years.
I could see why England were terrible under GN.
GN is a failed coach.

I think Giggs saying that the Utd penalty incident was a penalty simply because he, a former Utd player, shouted "penalty!" at the time of the incident, was the worst piece of punditry I've heard all season.

The L bar thing as mentioned - Sky have used on the Tennis this week - they've actually used on the Tennis for 2-3 years at least. Was prominent when they had the US Open.
