Of course, RTE can afford to do this what with there being absolutely no Irish teams in the Champions League. If there were, this would be a totally different story. So really quite a poor comparison to make.

Sure it's typical ftakeith - looking for a reaction.

Anyway, ITV would be quite right to cater for fans of English/Scottish teams; meaningless games or not supporters want to watch their own team.

ITV were also contractually obliged to show a British team.

In any case, Spurs v CSKA Moscow is still a meaningful game - a straight shoot-out to determine the Europa League place.

Pretty sure that's what Seagull meant, which is why I didn't mention it. However you're right to clarify it

Most importantly I can guarantee ftakeith knows it but he got his reaction

I was conscious of the fact my post could be taken out of context so I don't know why I didn't just revise it in the first place.

I was speaking in the past tense there, so you can ignore that bit and pretend like I just posted:

"So the Bilbao game definitely followed Inter's on BT Sport Extra 2 and wasn't one of those games that you could only watch online via BT Sport's website/app? Pretty sure that wasn't advertised as such online. I think all the online TV listing sites missed it. I certainly missed it off the data hub as a result."

If your response is anything to go by however, I'll take that as being confirmation that it was on, as I assume it was part of your count to eight!

This reminds me, I created this mock-up for people who are interested in keeping a record of highlights programmes.

When doing this, I couldn't help but think something like this must already exist somewhere on the interweb, particularly for a show like Match of the Day. I'm sure there has to be someone geeky enough to have kept a log of all the running orders and suchlike. If such a thing exists, I'm sure you folks would know about it!

Yes, having just watched the show in full I thought I'd better point that out! I missed the start of the programme when I was tracking the details on here, but of course it made sense to show the Fenerbache action before the Manchester United edit as the game in Turkey kicked off earlier due to the change in timezones.

One other thing to point out about ITV's Europa League highlights show, I'm pretty sure they showed all the goals from all of matchround five's games, which they don't usually do (they tend to show action from every game but perhaps only show two or three goals from high-scoring matches). Hopefully they can keep this up for the rest of the season.

It absolutely did - while I was checking the commentary details through the BT Sport website, coverage of both Internazionale and Athletic's games had the BT Sport Extra 2 DOG displayed on them, and at the conclusion of the former the commentators trailed that the latter was coming up, and they switched focus to San Mames after a commercial break on that stream.

Athletic v Sassuolo was also displayed on that eight-screen graphic that is periodically displayed on BT Sport's Champions League and Europa League coverage to highlight all the games they have available - they typically only provide their own commentary and coverage on eight Europa League games per Thursday matchday.

Yes, thank you. I since had the idea of undeleting my recordings from last night and found it advertised after one of the earlier kick-offs had ended.

I once again reiterate however that this wasn't publicised in advance online, which is strange. I have got Googling for information down to a fine art after the copious amount of research I've done for the upcoming website I'm working on and I believe you to be the first and only person on the internet to have posted about this match having been shown on BT.

BT Sport Score is unencrypted for Sky viewers if you are watching BT Sport 1 SD tomorrow. It's also free to watch on Showcase.

Doubt many Sky viewers will switch from Soccer Saturday for it. But for those on Freeview it is a pleasant alternative to the rather dull Final Score.

They have some 12:30pm games bundled into their package. It basically the same as 5 Live sometimes taking TalkSport's 5:30pm games.
