Re Oxlade Chamberlain - I was in the car all afternoon so heard R5L and no TV.
I’m interested in the above comments re the TV coverage because on R5L neither Alan Green nor Danny Mills were aware that Oxlade Chamberlain was injured. Indeed when he was substituted they expressed surprise and specifically said they didn’t think he could be injured. They said he threw his shirt at the bench and believed that further suggested he couldn’t be injured. Shows how difficult commentating live can be. The issue was compounded because it resulted in talk about Wenger's tactics making no sense bringing on someone only to then substitute them and that line of discussion then continued on 606 with Jason Mohammad and Ian Wright also completely unaware of the injury. |

Watching Coventry v Sheff Utd last night, I noticed it was George Gavin's Last Outing for Sky after 22 years.
He looked embarrassed when Peter Beagrie gave him a Kiss on the cheek at the end of the Programme. Quote:
Ooh, I totally missed that. A very odd way to go out, probably one of the strangest matches he'd ever done, in a virtually deserted stadium with a pitch invasion. In the bit I did see I was quite pleased Gavin and Beagrie weren't being pious about the pitch invasion, Beagrie did constantly say "Of course, we don't condone it" but both were clearly broadly supportive of the aims of it and were quick to point out how peaceful and orderly it all was. Of course, Gavin has already done more live games this season than about the last three seasons put together.
Here's a behind-the-scenes clip from afterwards - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1tX5PxkDJGI So, back to Minto presenting all-things Football League. |

Call me old fashioned, but I simply can't come to terms with central defenders who wear gloves. As a consequence, I have always tended to distrust Otamendi. Never Change Garth Crooks. Never Change. It is a totally irrational position to hold as his mittens can't possibly determine how well he defends a corner.

Garth's weekly column on BBC Sport now gets a lot of discussion on Twitter
Watching BT on Saturday night made me realise how weak their Xmas is with the new deal, Liverpool/City is a strong game of course but the next best thing they could advertise during the game is their Score show on Boxing Day ![]() I did wonder if MNF would be based at the ground tonight but David Jones posted a picture of Gary/Jamie on a train down to London last night |

The only thing BT Score has going for it is the frankly odd line-ups which often indicate the show that has no idea what it wants to be. I mean Soccer Saturday isn't highbrow but it's a show that knows its market and what is does and does it well. It's a huge waste of Jenas's ability (and Pougatch's talents too) for him to be on this show so often. |

I've not watched Score but I don't see the market for a 3rd show of this nature. Maybe a specialist European show or a football league specialist show (which BT can't do) but another PL results show, not sure there's a need for it.
Presume it's Hawthorne tonight. Co-comm could be one of a few! |

David Jones is with Danny Devito & Felicity Kendall. Simon Scharma did an interview with Ross Barkley earlier. All very interesting.

For BT Sport customers without Sky Sports (which is the shows target audience) its only the second show of its nature, and the other one aint much better.

Neville back in the "senior" position on far side of desk with Carragher in the middle.
When Neville was a “guest” on MNF at start of season he went in the middle “junior” position - like other guests do. |

Patrick Davison was pitchside.
No Klopp/Neville interaction to report in the post match interview when Klopp spoke live to the studio. |

An average of two million people (with a 2.3 million peak) watched last night's game, apparently.
https://twitter.com/SB_Intelligence/...58720096989185 I don't know whether that's the match average or programme average (I'm assuming the former), but what does Monday Night Football typically get? |

MNF ratings vary wildly due to quality of game – but last season’s overall programme average was 815k. I’d imagine last night’s programme average was about 1.3m. Last night’s rating is a strong one – not many Sky games match average as high as 2m. |

Adam Virgo on Twitter suggesting he is on co-comms for both Emirates FA Cup Replays this week (Peterborough v Notts County tonight and Newport County v Plymouth tomorrow) on BT Sport.
Also replied to someones tweet that it will be Jon Champion on lead comms for tomorrow night's cup replay. |
