Tom Skippings is reporting somewhere but I can't remember where... Tom Bushell is reporting at Accrington V Luton.

EDIT: He's at QPR V Blackburn.

For those worrying about Jake making it to Preston on time... Well he's going to be there on time... By over an hour!

I've probably said this before, but I find Chris Sutton to be a very strange man.

Interesting that the BBC Sport website is using this commentary rather than Ian Darke and Owen Hargreaves from BT Sport.

Well interestly BBC have taken BT commentary for these sort of games no matter who was on commentary until they got to the Quarter Final/Semi Final I think?

Not saying this because it's Fletcher but it really is very poor, not being a commentator myself but it really should of been a straight forward call.

He really has been all over the place tonight probably not helped by Macnanaman jumping in all the time and trying to shout over him when he he could.

It can take at least an hour just to get around a mile away from Old Trafford after a game - I take it he made it

Most important stat of the day for an analyst? Allen announced Rooney had hit goal number 248 as he scored.

To be fair to Fletcher - he isn't the first (and won't be the last) commentator to get a goalscorer wrong. The likes of Tydesley and Tyler spring to mind as people who have done the same. And he did correct himself quickly.

That said as much as some of us have a tendancy to criticise BT on here it was an awful commentary by Fletcher and Macmanaman and people I was watching with even said as much.

I've said before that I find McManaman easy to like but with his co-commentaries he easily gets excitable and can sound like more like a fan given the microphone than someone who's been a co-commentator for years.
Fletcher does little to stop him (or rein him in) and both seem to bring out the worst performances in each other.

Enthusiasm is no bad thing but you can have too much of it. Both seem nice blokes at the least.

To be fair to Fletcher after one error he did joke that "maybe I should just go home now", he was having a stinker and he knew it. As others have said, having McManaman doesn't help.

I'd rather Trevor Sinclair was no where near the BBC coverage than actually increase it!
