Maybe, although it could also be the case that Sky elected not to show a match on Tuesday because it would go against the Super Cup, and rather than splitting the audience they could show one tonight when there's no football competition.
Tonight for Bristol Rovers vs Cardiff it's Simon Thomas, doing some BT-style walking around, with Peter Beagrie, and Gary Weaver and Don Goodman commentating.

Actually the same music as last season's Football League, because of course the Football League has changed theme tune this time round. A bit like when ITV stopped using Aztec Gold on The Big Match but started using it on Saint and Greavsie instead. The actual title sequence is, bar the clips, pretty much the same as last season, which just makes it even more annoying they've got rid of Texas.
The other familiar aspect that's gone for a burton too is the anthropomorphic Bet365 letters, which have been in use for about a decade now as well. They've got some new break bumpers which are totally different! What's going on with the world?!? Don't they know we need certainty in these turbulent times?

My favourite bit in the press release is the Notes For Editors which says images from Saturday's Match of the Day will be available at 10.35 that night. I am very amused that the underpants are the only thing mentioned in the billing on the EPG, as opposed to all the actual football.

Sorry going for totally off topic but it really was painful to watch!!!”
I know, although George Gavin at least did it slightly better than Simon Thomas a few years ago who missed out one of the non-seeded teams and got totally out of sync for a couple, having to stop and go back. It doesn't seem to be very accountable, either, I don't know if the list of non-seeded teams is published anywhere, so they may as well just be making it up (not that they are, but you know what I mean).
I don't know why they do it like this, even with seeding you end up with a load of dull ties between teams in the same division. As you say, they may as well draw all the seeded teams away, it would certainly make it easier to follow. Around the turn of the century they did the draw for every round in one go, like Wimbledon, so you'd have Winner Of Match A vs Winner Of Match B, and then the winner of that would play the winner of C vs D and so on, which was an interesting way to do it. Would have made more sense than this.
Someone also pointed out on Twitter that they used balls for it, whereas for many years they've used cubes. DRAW VOID.

In terms of ratings it wouldn't be very good, though, it does well enough where it is and BBC1 have other things at 11am which do very well as well. I watch Football Focus live and then join the Premier League in progress, unless that features Liverpool. And of course many of the audience don't have the choice as they don't have Sky.
