Nothing wrong with a relaxed format, but it's all style and very little substance.

Rachel does feel like a spare part.

Sky's use of Kamara and Tubes adds a more "entertainment" feel to the programme.

I guess it doesn’t really matter as it’s only 10 games – I just hope they don’t even think of doing any of this sort of stuff on other PL games.”

Way overstaffed for what it is - 4 people at the stadium (Kammy, Tyler, Smith and Shreeves), 2 at a pub and 6 people in the studio.

As I've said seems to be a trend at the moment on all football coverage to include more people on-screen, more pundits and make shows longer for no real benefit.

As someone else said, seems all style little substance so far, all sorts of filler and a very deliberate attempt to go informal.
Definetely could do with 30 mins less pre-match.

That dancing nonsense gave me Oxlade Chamberlin PES vibes. Do I not like that.

Have to say the more I watch the more I think Colin Murray would suit this given its jokey, informal style

Nickname Alert!!

Redknapp used the term "Carra".

Nobody is entertained by Tubes

It all has a feeling of "trying too hard" for me - thank god they haven't tried to resurrect the SNF studio audience idea though.

I'm not sure why they feel we need all this - or why they need a different "feel" for different days of the week. Most viewers still just want the match with a bit of analysis don't they?

Am I the only person on here who has never heard of Tubes?

The pub post show on the other hand could be entertaining. In the same way BT broadcasting outside a stadium post match was.

Stelling comparing Rachel Riley to 'Anne Robinson'. Bantz.

To be fair there is an audience - but in a pub instead of the FNF studio.

He's from Soccer AM.

I'd say Sky are getting off lightly on this thread. Some truly embarrassing broadcasting.

- Contrived 'candid' shots: Martin Tyler tidying his tie etc
- Pub broadcasting where satellite delays are throwing an incompetent presenter
- Jeff Stelling perfecting his World Gurning Championship face every time Rachel Riley is talking
- A countdown to team news which they decide to miss through an ad break
- Tubes dancing
- Neil Ruddock performing a striptease
- Jeff Stelling using 'mate' towards Jamie Redknapp

Kammy is being used as a similar role to when they present Goals on Sunday from Wembley for the League Cup Final. He's a roving reporter showing us around the stadium in the build up. I like this addition.

They're also taking questions from social media and Redknapp/Carragher have both used the touchscreen up to now.

FNF going for a younger market approach. Light hearted but slick.

The pub thing could be nonsense but essentially though that isn't part of the FNF show it was just a preview to another show on at 10;45.

Sometimes worry that this thread isn't the market for casual show like this... A bit like all of a sudden folk thing Soccer Saturday needs this whole refresh? Why? It works. It isn't stale. It is a happy medium of facts and a bit of humor. Plenty of football chat here on FNF with the Tubesy Soccer AM stuff... Latter hit and miss for some but will be popular enough for the demographic.

This setup seems far better than the cringe mate fest with Jake, Fletch and Sav.

Is it to some extent the case that people working in TV feel the need to justify their existence?

So just putting on a simple, straightforward show isn't good enough - they need to do something "new" / "different" to justify their existence.

Another good example was the C5 FL highlights last season - lots of nonsense, totally unnecessary - and most of it then subsequently dropped.

Well I don't think I'm the target market for this, I've switched off.

The show could have started at 7pm.

Negatives are the studio, too big and the item in the pub.

Positives I think riley was good, kamara did a good piece, that's as light as I'd want a show.

However I appreciate in a pub I'm about to visit, Riley and redknapp approach among football lite viewers will go down better than David Jones at a ground with two men in suits

I have enjoyed this more interactive, more relaxed and laid back.

A lot better than wooden Super Sunday, where they all just sit there, and bore on.

Agree with this entirely, especially the bit about Soccer Saturday.

It's a bit naff. It doesn't need to have a 90 minute build up. It won't make a difference as most people just tune in for the match anyway.

Although two different types of shows, I prefer Fletch and Sav over this. Being on at 10am helps.

Was the show from the pub on before this?

The presenter said "on our show we've already had Trevor Sinclair and (somebody else I can't remember)...

Im enjoying this.

But I also haven't got the call for Soccer Saturday to be changed, it works, im sure if it hasn't worked, it would have changed.

I'll be turning off soon anyway because I never watch Man U unless they're losing or playing my team (which hasn't happened for 16 years) but as far as the show goes it's a no from me.

Riley and pub girl were nice though
