Think Carragher only got involved twice during the game itself - which is a good way of doing it.
Not for me. It's a complete waste of a great pundit. No reason he can't be in the studio if he's only going to be used as a voiceover for a total of 1 minute.

I don't think it helped that there was very few times where he could be brought in as the game was eventful throughout.

Well exactly, football doesn't have too many natural stoppages. Evidenced by them trying to shoehorn him in just before the end of the half only to be cut off after 4 seconds because of a counter attack. This 'compromise' between not wanting to do what BT do with 3 people, and not wanting to just stick with 2 isn't working. BT have it better as you can at least see a point to it.

The trouble is that the BT's 3 man commentary team is pretty crap while most of Sky's have soo much skills to them, if Sky ever had 3 people in the box then I can easily see it beating BT's.

I do think Sky's woks much better in general and is the way a 3-man team should be used.

However, I do agree it's a bit of a waste of Carragher and I feel Sky's studio lacks something without Neville and/or Carragher.

The solution for me would be to use Carragher in the studio pre-match before allowing him to do his own thing on the gantry and then have Neville in the studio post-match.

Think Thomas said Slaven Bilic would be on MNF this week, presumably with Carragher. Very good choice of guest I have to say and exactly the sort of person Sky should be using more. Bit surprised if Neville isn't on though considering there's the Manchester derby to analyse.

SV Darmstadt 98/Eintracht Frankfurt: Phil Bonney
Let me correct myself. It was Garry Preston on Darmstadt/Frankfurt. I'm always getting him and Bonney's voices confused.

RB Leipzig/Borussia Dortmund: Phil Bonney
FS2 & BT Sport 3: Paul Dempsey, Nigel Spackman
talkSPORT: Matt Davies

Odd that Sky Sports News used Guy Havord for this match.

What do BT see in Fletcher? He reminds me of Matterface in the way he gets drowned out in the goal calls.

What does everyone think about the new Anfield camera angle?

Higher and more distant.

OK, I think - though imagine some might not like it.

Is it higher and more distant than any other PL ground?

Wow that a surprise, perhaps with Mowbray? How's Jenas commentary? I know he's done some Friday night commentary with Fletcher on 5 Live but haven't heard a lot on TV.

He did Salford's first round FA Cup on the telly for the BBC last season. Couldn't pronounce Salford, but was otherwise good

Michael Owen is actually a pretty decent pundit. Makes decent discussion (certainly a lot more able than Savage) and it's just a shame his reputation has been tarnished due to BT throwing him in at the deep end on commentary.

On the other hand, Hoddle is rather drab as a 3rd man commentator and as I said earlier, havign seen NBC's 3 man commentary team on the Manchester derby, the comparisons really are chalk and cheese.

At the start didn't like it but grew on me after a while. Reminded me of 'tactical cam' although not quite got all players in.

Least it better than other recent changes (spurs and villa?)
