Question: Has anyone else other than Bill Leslie, Daniel Mann or Gary Weaver commentated on Football League matches for Sky over the past few years?
How many years ago was it that Ian Crocker made the switch to solely Scottish games? |

The Jamo fanclub out in force as ever.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Can BT ever win with their co-commentary selections mind? Not sure I've actually heard many where people have gone 'yeah, that sounds good'. Not that I'm saying we're wrong to criticise necessarily. I'll have Keown as a co-commentary though if it means Hargreaves is used as a pundit. Have to say Klopp is a fantastic signing for tomorrow's MNF. He's a very watchable, likable guy and I heard he was brilliant whenever he's done it on German TV (before he became a manager). I have wondered why BT have never considered using Jim Beglin? but i think BT just want to go down the line of mostly young and past recent footballer's. I was getting quite used to Michael Owen but i think the axe has finally come down on him in the commentary box after years of constant moaning and groaning on social media. I can tolerate Steve Macnanaman but mostly when he is not with Fletcher and as for Hargreaves, well most on here know my views on him. Robbie Savage can also be quite good, last Weds with Darke he really came across well with decent points and analysis but in a 3man commentary he just simply wants to be heard the most and can be so argumentive just for the sake of it. |

Just want to make a quick point about Darren Fletcher, as much as i don't rate him anywhere near the standards of Darke, Tyler or even Rob Hawthorne i did find him a very easy listen when he presented Fletch and Sav over the past few seasons.
He seemed to command authority, knew what question's to ask and didn't take the show away from the pundits, so yes i also think he would make a very good presenter over Humphrey's. On the subject of his work load, well there is no doubt the like's of Tyler or Darke would probably struggle but at times i think even he could burn himself out, on top of his football comitments and Radio he also has a lot of NFL in the near future so i hope for his sake he is not prone to winter sickness and cold's. |

You're early. There's a game tomorrow :P
Wonder whether it's BL or AP on comms. Maybe this is the season for sure when he is going to do more games than Alan Parry? For the record was Parry's last game or games on a 4 game weekend for Sky? |

Rob Palmer did a few L1/2 games during international breaks last season I seem to remember.

Ian Crocker last commentated on Football League games during the 2012/13 season I think. Rob Palmer has been doing some L1/2 games during the international break weekends as mentioned - last time was 3 weeks ago - and Tony Jones is sometimes used as well for this kind of matches. Alan Parry last did some Championship games maybe 2-3 seasons ago but since then it's been mostly the trio of Leslie, Mann and Weaver.
I actually noticed Rob Palmer did one earlier in the month but forgot about it. |

It seems Savage is a pundit for the Leicester game as opposed to commentator, with Lineker and Ferdinand. Probably Owen Hargreaves as the co-commentator alongside Darke.

![]() At least old man Francis is stuck on one of the non-British ties. Other Owen seems to just have United on Thursday again for the second set of European fixtures. |

And, perhaps surprisingly, Matt Smith presenting both CL matches on BTS3 this week. In the studio for CSKA-Spurs and at the Emirates for Arsenal-Basel. Good gig for him and nice to see a thoroughly underrated presenter get rewarded. It seems safe to assume therefore Hipgrave will be covering Southampton on Thursday night.

Andy Hinchcliffe is co-commentator tonight for Burnley V Watford so it looks like Leslie is with him again. This looks like it's going to be a regular partnership for this year which is great to see, they really have produced some great commentaries together in the EFL and PL. I think Leslie and Hinchcliffe will be on next week as well as there is 4 PL games and just 1 EFL game live on Sky Sports.

Klopp is going now, just Jamie and David for the rest of the show. Klopp was amazing for the first hour.

When Sky have special guests on Monday Night Football, do they tend to stick around for the whole show or leave after an hour or so as Klopp did?

I noticed as well they didn't show the team lineup in the studio during the build-up but instead showed it when the teams came out.

But on the first show of last season Roberto Martinez just did the first hour after Neville's dad had died. And before they've had the likes of Eddie Howe on for the pre-match only. MNF is finishing at the earlier time of 10.30 tonight. Not entirely sure why. |

I think the studio line-up bit often takes up unnecessary time and there's no real need for it. |
