Intersting lineup tonight for the Spurs game, Smith is in the studio with Jenas, Redknapp and Hoddle with Peter Drury and Clive Allen on commentary, Andy May on-site reporting. The same team will be used for the highlights show on BTS2 at 10pm.

For the Leciester game, Lineker, Ferdinand and Savage are all on-site at the King Power with Darke and Hargreves on commentary and Des Kelly reporting. I think I make that the first time that the main group stage game has been presented on-site hence why they are using the Spurs team for the highlights show as that is being done at the studio.

I think the same setup will be used tomorrow with Gary and the team on-site for the Celitc V Man City game.

Don't get this one. BT barely ever use 3 man punditry teams anymore so to use it for a fairly ordinary Tottenham CL game seems bizarre. Quite annoying too. I would much prefer Jenas who remains a promising co-commentator rather than Allen who, while alright, is a bit of a tired selection. Also, if you then put Jenas as a pundit, that should make Redknapp surplus to requirements, but he still makes it in there!.

Agree with you, it's a bit odd that a standad CL gets 3 pundits but a very big game sometimes just get the 2 pundits, I suppose that won't be the case tomorrow on Celtic V Man City.

A pleasent lineup for Man United V Stoke with Humphery, Michael Owen, Robbie Savage and Owen Hargreaves going by PL Today, Sky EPG. Either Hargreaves or Savage on co-commentary for that.

Savage on commentary me thinks, as I said a few weeks ago. Because he's on Score every week he can't cover too many PL matches, meaning that he'll probably be on commentary for almost any BT game on a Sunday (unless it's a 'big 6' v 'big 6' clash).

I think you're right for tomorrow. BT will throw lots of faces in. As a quick guess I'll say, Lineker with Ferdinand, Dunne and Hartson with Fletcher, McManaman and Sutton on commentary.

I'll just leave this here:

There it is then. Sam to be remembered as the England manager who lasted 67 days. Undone by a trio of greed, naivety and our poisonous press

Another member of the BT on-screen team, albeit on the rugby side in Matt Dawson, was criticising the press earlier for having the temerity to do investigate journalism.
Was getting a lot of criticism for it and quite rightly,

Allardyce's departure announced during commentary on the Leicester game. The race now on to see which BT pundit is the first to suggest Hoddle as England manager (some already suggested it a few months back).

If I were a Burnley or Watford fan I might have thought they'd have given the teams rather short shrift. My non-Liverpool-supporting colleague did say today that they thought he was brilliant. Reminds me a bit of when Ruud Gullit was on Monday Night Football, heavens, twenty years ago, and everyone was amazed at how erudite and articulate he was.

Although as pointed out on Twitter, the press weren't forcing him to do it. This is a bit like the night Capello resigned, just before an FA Cup match on ITV, and the entire build-up went completely out of the window. Rather awkward timing for Sky Sports News this time - at the moment they're doing updates between the various match reports although I wouldn't be too surprised if it became vice versa later.

Jake has reworded it, it now says "ruthless press".

Southgate as temporary manager for England now. Oh well could have been Hoddle, then we would have seen Tyldesley and Townsend in the commentary box again.

Because of the Allardyce story.

May be biased here but i really did think that was an excellent call by Darke on Leicester's goal.

Drury in Golf Analogy mode tonight. Bogey, Birdie and Par all in one sentence. Then a comment about sinking it in the cup straight after.

Jake Humphrey is being absolutely ripped to pieces about his initial comments about the press and Allardyce.

Clearly after the Assistant Manager job.

Why am I not surprised by it being those two?

Just waiting to hear that Alan Shearer should be permenant England manager by Shearer.

Oh Jake, Jake, Jake. He really is the gift that keeps on giving.

The original tweet has now been deleted too unsurprisingly.

Just on that point, I'm not sure Matt Dawson has appeared on BT since the end of the 2014/15 season – certainly not on live rugby coverage so I doubt he has appeared elsewhere. He was quietly moved on and replaced by Ugo Monye when the latter retired from playing.

I know the reporter was on site in Moscow but were Drury and Allen?

My error in the case. I haven't seen a lot of their coverage recently. I'd seen him on it at some point a while ago so assumed he must still be there.

He then tried to say that by 'ruthless' he actually meant 'diligent'. Because 'poisonous' and 'diligent' are synonyms, of course they are...!

It saddens me to see Jake like this, it really does, as I was a big fan of him back in his CBBC days (what with Rule the School and all of that) and I thought he was amazing on the F1. But he's really become a bit of a laughing stock since he's gone to BT what with his on-screen persona and some of the frankly bizarre things he puts on his Twitter.

I think he sees himself as more than a presenter. I think he should stick to being a link man, add some humour at times but not try to best everones best mate. Watch and learn from Lineker/Matt Smith, keep it simple and ask better questions

Was great on the F1, maybe didnt think he ran the show back then, voicing the BT Sport ads etc sees himself as the PR Man/face of the channel.

Lineker is humourous and informed on Twitter when he comments on breaking news, politics of the sport.

Not one of BT's CL games made the top 10 multi channel show ratings, this means they all averaged under 378k
