Probably doesn't help they have to keep re-editing them to put new managers in. As I mentioned the other week, these opening titles have been in use since 2008, making them by far the longest serving titles in football at the moment. I notice we got the full version tonight with ITV Sport Presents intact, in recent months we've only had a short version.
I remember the titles the Beeb used for England matches when they got the rights back in 2001, featuring Gary walking around the country watching kids play football, in a fatherly manner. I remember there was a bit filmed at Blackpool Tower and a friend of mine said they'd clearly done that because they wanted a geographical spread and Blackpool was one of the few Northern towns where they couldn't be accused of being biased towards a particular Premier League club.
