Borussia Dortmund v Hertha Berlin - BT Sport 3 - Steve Bower and Jim Beglin
great commentary from both tonight

Beglin described the first half as a stinker and the second half as a stonker

. Steve Cotterill and Lee Johnson clearly don't get on going by their reaction or lack of it to each other post match!

Apart from FNF, SS's live coverage is much than BT Sport's PL coverage

If SS's figures are down, BS's figures must be worse

The amount of calls I've received from Virgin asking me to take Sky Sports at half price has been excessive.
Irrespective of how it compares to BT - that's not the issue here. The issue is that footballs bubble could burst. Thank goodness.

The game now is a pale imitation to the game I fell in love with.

Yep, I think that was a bit more than awkwardness about one person taking the other person's job going on there. Cotterilll almost had his back to Johnson at one point, and never once looked at him.

I think he was prepared to shake his hand at the end when he left, but when it didn't materialise, he wasn't too disappointed...

That kind of thing wouldn't be quite so noticeable if Sky's pitchside post-match interviews didn't drag on for so long. In fact, it's rare for the losing manager to come out and talk to them after the game. They got both managers this time.

He's been excellent whenever he's appeared on the BBC at major competitions.

Longer intro and outro will probably be the reason, unless it's match averages.

Do we know if lampard will be available for sky again?

Why must they be worse?

Anyway, i know it's only Charlie reporting on this but if true alarm bell's will be ringing considering how much money they ploughed into the Prem.

It would make you wonder how they could sustain any kind of massive bid in a few years time.

It's far too early to draw any meaning from viewing figures this season, because of the hot weather continuing until late September and the Olympics and Paralympics.

You need to wait until the end of December and then take another look.

Almost certainly on intros and outros. Those normally rate lower than during the match and those being extended will drive the averages down.

I can't help thinking Sky really did overbid for the PL though. They've had to make noticable cutbacks in sports and across Sky as a result and for shows like FNF really are milking them for all it's worth.

It's noticable Sky have increased the hype of their biggest games this season too - I mean it wasn't minor before but the MU/MC hype and the cringeworthy 'Red Monday' plugging these days really does at times lose perspective. It's only the first 2 months of the season.
Think even Sky realise they're struggling to get value-for-money for these deals and need to try to justify price hikes to customers.

To give Sky praise though, the punditry line-ups by them so far this season have been much more varied than towards the end of last season. Back then I felt the the line-ups were getting rather samey.

Lots more green ticks in the system, thanks everyone.

Few more queries though:

Juventus v Tottenham Hotspur - 26/07/2016 - Sky
No reporter for this game? T'was a pre-season friendly so it's a distinct possibility I guess.

NK Domžale v West Ham United - 28/07/2016 - BT Sport
No reporter, is this correct?

St Mirren v Falkirk - 01/10/2016 - BBC ALBA
Any advance on Calum Mcaulay being the presenter and Alex O'Henley the commentator. Was this it?

Hibernian v Dundee United - 02/10/2016 - Sky
Once again, no reporter recorded - which may or may not be correct.

I don't think there was a reporter at Juventus V Spurs, BT used the host broadcaster reporter for the West Ham game but she wasn't named and not sure on the rest.

Not in the UK, it's on Sky Sports 5 in Ireland only, with the rest of the Sky Sports UK Network showing other programming.
