Doesn't (or hasn't) Brenda judged on the NZ version though? I guess Mr J thinks that is untouched by the hands of producers
Well, Hayley Holt managed to be a semi-finalist twice so obviously there's something unnatural going on there...

That post about Lisa???
The reason why I haven't been understanding what you were saying was because I wasn't using it as a windup in the slightest!! I very much enjoyed watching Lisa in the show and thought her partnership with Robin was magnificent. Naturally I wholeheartedly concur with your comments regarding her weightless. In a post just before that I was saying that I thought it was great that we had positive discussions about so many celebs, Lisa Riley being one of them - and I used your post to exemplify that! I swear on my own life that that wasn't being used as a windup!!! Jeez!!
The post later which I laughed at was when someone described her as Mrs Funnity Fun which I thought was a rather amusing name.
Ok fair enough I have a genuine admiration for Lisa's recent achievement and always liked Robin as a pro on the show. Wish he hadn't agreed to the cringey ITT stuff last year but get it keeps the Strictly connection for him for other work gigs. Hilarious on the Christmas Special when Alison sent him flying

As do I, and I certainly would never use a post about weight loss to create a wind up!!
On the subject of Robin being sent flying - I still remember this little incident when he was paired with Lisa! https://youtube.com/watch?v=5Uoyy1VPEd0

I'm really surprised that doesn't happen more often!

One of the joys of Strictly is being proved totally wrong about preconceptions - I initially thought Chelsee was going to be an annoying gobby (excuse the phraseology) little nightmare but she ended up being one of my absolute favourites and I thought she was a fabulous dancer. Same with Lisa, I thought she was going to be another loud mouthed "look at me, I'm fat but I'm so much FUN". I thought she did feel obliged to play up to the "hey, don't feel sorry for me, I love being this size" image at times but I thought she was a lovely person and I really genuinely did think she was a good dancer. Her Cha Cha with Robin obviously had its comedy moments but it was truly entertaining and enjoyable to watch - in my view in any case.

Ha ha I remember that, awww love Robin hiding under his hat.

That would be my first worry on Strictly, not sliding over on the dance floor or tripping down the stairs. Known to be a little clumsy.

I wouldn't worry Brian - this exchange follows a lot of others were certain celeb behaviour has been criticised and roundly deplored until it was pointed out that the favoured few had also done it !

I can't remember all the examples but the "Sunday Mirror' comes to mind ... Apparently nobody but a bottom feeding desperate celeb would do an interview or photoshoot with them - until it was pointed out that Anita Rani had already done one

What is so funny to watch is the instant backtracking involved !

Apparently Alijaz and Janette doing periscopes all the time about their lives in detail, tweeting almost daily declarations of abiding love and doing a half naked OK (or was it Hello?) shoot is absolutely fine; Pixie Lott stopping and posing her socks off every night outside the Theatre when most actors run out of the stage door as quickly as possible is adorable and has nothing to do with seeking publicity, she does it to delight her very small band of fans; but Georgia wishing her boyfriend good luck on his first day back on Strictly by tweet is an enormous cry for attention and totally disgusting ... go figure

I guess it is OK to dislike someone to such a extent you lose all sense of proportion but you can't blame other people for laughing at you when your lack of reason and blind bias is utterly exposed.

Absolutely the same thing here Ochre, my feet would instantly become the size of Audley Harrison's. Caroline had a stumble in her American Smooth as I recall and subsequently requested that she never be given a long dress to wear again

I think your post exposes a lot, though perhaps not what you intended.

It's why Ian Waite and his magic wand (cue double entendre, yawn) get so het up about the female celebrities training in their ballroom shoes. I think I could train for years in ballroom shoes and STILL manage to fall flat on my face

I'd have to learn how to just walk in heels again. Used to wear them all the time then I had the children...trainers, flats and wellies for years running round after them The thought of ballroom shoes a few inches high is a little terrifying The thought of clinging on to Ian or Aljaz for dear life rather nice lol.

That is very true

Something that put me off Kimberley Walsh's dancing (not her as a person because I did like her) was that she always looked so wobbly and as if she was perpetually 3 seconds away from falling on her backside. I think Pasha went out of his way in their showdance to have everyone on their edge of their seats for the wrong reasons - I watched this behind my hands thinking trippage was imminent.

This is rather cryptic, have you been taking lessons from Georgia May Foote in how to write cryptic messages - care to expand at all?

Speaking of Alison, here's her attempt at capturing the romance in Wuthering heights - https://youtube.com/watch?v=yB4DC3qRLvQ

Is it at all possible that the personal sniping and questioning be either put to one side or taken to pm and the thread get back to something approaching topic and not the views of other posters harvested from other threads?

Well said aggs. Of course my recent post is absolutely fine because I'm perfect

But yes, totally agreed, let's move on (in fact I thought we had when we started talking about tripping up )

BIB As did I. Speaking of which I felt the same about Kimberley bless her.

And I loved Alison and Aljaz as a partnership.

EDIT: A dancing partnership, not a hottest romance lol. It was nice to see Alison bring out his fun side.

Great - what is the topic of this thread ?

One loses track as the posts become so very much the same regardless of the subject

Back on track - Are Rachel and Pasha still an item ?
Did anyone see that romance coming while they were on Strictly ?

Which couples are still together ?
Flavia and Jimi are married !
Kristina and Ben as of this morning ...
Georgia and Giovanni very much together too as of this morning ..,and you said you would give it a month
Cant think of any others sadly so on the whole Strictly romances don't last - although perhaps they last as long as most modern romances.

Ben and Kristina are clearly very happy. I love the name they've chosen for their daughter, Milena, so pretty. She's a beautiful baby.

I hope Jimi and Flavia will have babies soon Ochre. Must be a very difficult decision to make as motherhood and professional ballroom dancing don't exactly go hand in hand.

So do I Lou, how lovely would that news be! Must be very difficult for the female dancers to consider when to take a break, much as you can plan these things of course! And for both the female and male pros it's not an easy profession to juggle with parenthood with the time commitments and travelling involved.
