Dr Who contains lots of high drama and also all action sequences, as well as sci-fi brilliance. But what do other forum users find to be the most moving magical moments in the series, the real tear jerkers? For me it is the symmetry between Clara having to help the elderly dying Doctor pull a Christmas Cracker in the 2013 Christmas special, and the role reversal in the following year's Christmas special, this time the Doctor having to help the elderly Clara pull a cracker. The symmetry between these two moments is so beautiful and moving

In The Time Monster when the Third Doctor tells Jo the story about the hermit on Gallifrey when he was a child.

The First Doctor saying goodbye to Susan in Dalek Invasion of Earth.

Sarah Jane playing games with the mentally challenged guy in Planet of the Spiders, or her pity for Condo (was that his name?) in The Brain of Morbius.

The Fifth Doctor sacrificing himself for Peri when he hardly knew her in The Caves of Androzani.

The Eleventh Doctor saying goodbye to the TARDIS in The Doctor’s Wife.

The Second Doctor chuckling to himself when Jamie returns to his own time and immediately starts chasing down someone in The War Games.

The Twelfth Doctor and Clara's "Can I talk about the planets?" conversation in Mummy on the Orient Express. They actually had quite an adorable friendship.

The 3rd doctor driving off alone at the end of the green death leaving jo grants wedding party.

The 10th Doctor standing alone in the rain after returning Donna to her family......

The 10th Doctor meeting Joan's grand-daughter in the bookshop and her realising who he is...

1) The Doctor being controlled by the Giant Spider in Ep5 of Planet Of The Spiders. One of the few times the 3rd Doctor, as actually was told, experienced fear and was totally out of control of himself.

2) The 3rd/4th Regeneration. A very tranquil scene, just beautifully done.


3) The 4th/5th Regneration. After seven years of Tom Baker, this was a special regeneration. The flashback sequences prior to it were awesome too.

4) Sarah seeing the TARDIS in School Reunion for the first time and then realising who The Doctor is as he appears shortly afterwards.

5) Davros recognising Sarah in Journey's End. Possibly the most spine tingling scene ever. It's rare for a companion to come back to the show AND meet a specific humanoid adversary. Just an awesome moment.
