3 Essential & Advanced plans
Alex_1

3 offering Essential plans with tethering, feel at home and calls to customer service removed in return for cheaper prices.
Does it appeal to anyone?
Other existing plans are being renamed Advanced asfar as I'm aware

Cheaper will always appeal to some people - and there are surely plenty of potential punters out there who won't particularly want tethering or Feel at Home.

Of course this two-tiered approach means Feel-at-Home loses a bit of its cachet, as it basically means it will now cost extra for customers to use their phone abroad in the relevant countries, because they'll need to be on the premium "Advanced" plan rather than the basic "Essentials" plan.

I know its all about data on this forum, but I do know people who greatly value Feel-at-Home for the ability to make and receive calls and send texts plus some light data usage in the relevant countries without paying extra / over the odds.

This.

I'm a fairly heavy data user (usually between 2-4GB) but for the occasional cruise, feel at home is perfectly ample, in fact better.

Feel at home will lose a lot of its appeal from June 17th next year..... unless they start adding extra non-EU countries...

Feel At Home still useless then?

FAH could do with adding a few more EU countries anyway, The Netherlands and Germany are two places that would be very useful and popular , ah, hang on............

They take the piss on this page, with all the affiliated Spanish islands shown separately

I read the PDF of the price plan. It says the essential plan doesn't include using your plan's data allowance to use as a personal hotspot. So you have to buy addons for tethering.

EE is launching Roam Like Home in a couple of weeks. All of the EU, and all of your data (plus 4G) with no throttling.

Another reason Three better improve its current roaming offerings. Sure, it still wins for some non-EU roaming, but with the throttling and lack of tethering that's not great.

I would say the EE Max 40GB plan isn't going to be cheap though!
