He stands up for what he believes in and doesn't tolerate bullying, and isn't afraid to stick up for himself and isn't desperate to be part of the 'in' crowd. IMO Saira seems to have mild Aspergers, one of the reasons James seems keen to stick up for her, he did say, 'some people who may not appear at first, are quite vulnerable' I think he was probably referencing Saira. Whilst I may not agree with all his views I think as a housemate he's great, and appreciate what he stands for.
