I wonder how many more insincere apologies we'll be seeing from the celebs this season?

First, I think, there was Heavy C's apology to Saira after she'd got upset in the kitchen. It was the 'cut and run' style, "So you're alright now, yeah?", which I always hear as, "Sign on the dotted line and I'll be off then".

More to the point is how creative they are at delivering their point.

Ah yes, the classic 'reiterate your own argument' apology. Always one eye on the cameras.

Then there was the brief repeat of the same insincere apology to Saira moments before Marnie flashed her t*ts at her.

Then more from Marnie, apologising for having flashed her t*ts at Saira (this could go on!) only this time it was a more forceful 'cut and run' type. She was basically telling Saira to accept it, and she even lied about her motive while apologising, so not even being sincere to herself.

Then I think it was Bear (?) in the garden, playing to the crowd with "Let me be the first to apologise" [to Saira]. Yeah, I can tell that he really meant that. ("Sign on the dotted line, FFS!" )

There was also an insincere acceptance of said insincere apology.
Saira told James that she told Marnie it was okay, when she clearly didn't really think it was.
If it counts for anything, at least voicing an apology is proof of guilt, otherwise why say it.

We've had James Whale's 'open apology' for having poured coffee over Bear. Similar to Bear in the garden, playing to the crowd, but with a hint of "I think I made my point clear. Don't anyone try to f*ck with me."

She may well have told James that, but IIRC her reaction to Marnie in the bathroom was to avoid saying that she accepted the apology. Didn't she say something along the lines of "Let's just leave it there, yeah?" ..?

James will have to apologise to Bear for saying he was stupid tomorrow, something like "I am sorry, although it was factually correct"

Well, why not? Hughie got away with it for weeks and he nearly won.

I think it was Biggins who said Bear was stupid, wasn't it? He does have a point, yes.

It's pathetic that so many people think they can do whatever they want, and then say "I'm sorry" or "I was just joking," and no one should look askance at their actions. And then go right back to the same behavior.

They must subscribe to the Catholic method of forgiveness. Confess, and it all just goes away. But, they seem to have skipped the penance part.

Perhaps Big Brother will sell them indulgences.

Well obviously most of them aren't actually sorry, they just realise they have to live together and are trying to make the general atmosphere a bit less tense. False PR-driven 'apologies' are everywhere nowadays because of the perpetually offended brigade

What annoyed me most was Saira constantly saying "it's fine, it's fine" and agreeing with whatever the person is saying, then instantly going off to one of her friends like James and slagging them off behind their backs. I thought she claimed that she says what she thinks to people's faces? Clearly not

I think Saira's apology to Bear in the bathroom tonight was actually sincere. Heavy C's apology to Chloe in the garden later on, not so much. "So we're cool, yeah?" *Leaves a high-five hanging expectantly* Pure cut 'n' run.

I'd agree, Colin did seem a bit half-hearted, like let's get this over with

Aubrey's apology to Bear for having spat in his food and drink has to be one of the least sincere yet, not to mention her apology to Big Brother. Not, "I'm so sorry. It was a disgusting and disrespectful thing to do, and there's no excuse for it." Oh no, apparently she didn't realize it was disrespectful, it was just a joke. "I want you to know that it wasn't done in a malicious way." Umm.. Okay, sure.

I think her biggest concern was/is that Bear will get his own back at some point.

Any apology made after the apologising HM has been told off by BB in the Dairy Room is insincere as they are obviously only doing so because they have been caught out

You choose whether it was sincere or not.

Whether it was is something else entirely.

Well your first phrase is the nub of the issue. Generally speaking, most apologies on BB/CBB don't count for anything. They are pure lip service.
