Infact, if you go onto google and search lg 43LH604V, then click pictures, if you go down abit theres a picture of the rear on there.”
The Red Green and Blue video phonos are for Component video which is not available over SCART. The images I found (the manual available from LG's website being as useful as a chocolate teapot) show that the green socket has a half yellow and half green plastic ring. This is the Composite Video input which SCART does provide.
So you would plug the yellow plug from a SCART to phono lead into the green/yellow socket and the red and white plugs on the lead into the red and white Audio sockets.

Forget about HD channels on the recorder. It cannot receive them so cannot record them. The fact that the TV can receive HD channels is completely and totally irrelevant. The recorder only uses the TV as a display, it neither knows nor cares what channels the TV can receive or even if it can receive any channels at all. It ONLY uses it's own built in tuners so it is only what they can receive that can be recorded. So no point at all mentioning recording HD as they won't find any HD channels to record anyway no matter how hard they look.

I did explain to him that yes its a brand new tv and it is indeed called a ''Smart'' tv, but most people would just check there sports results/weather etc via the internet on the pc/phone, or even on the tv via the browser or something, not via teletext, its old hat now.
Just thought id ask, can i not find it because its simply not there on new tv's, or is it because i didnt find it? Its no big deal, but as its something ive never looked for/used for years then i wouldnt have a clue, saying that, its 2016 and he said it was working on his old tv?
Thanks”
Teletext was a strictly analogue system so it ended when all analogue transmitters were switched off four years ago. There is a "text" system on a very few channels (BBC only?) that is usually accessed via the red button. You won't find any service on the majority of channels. And where it does exist you may find it is only on the SD versions of the channel.
Also on the BBC channels if the TV is set up with an internet connection it may access the internet streaming version of the red button service which gives a load of extra functions.
