What is a box office? "A box office is a place where tickets are sold to the public for admission to an event." This suggests something live like a sporting event, theatre production or concert. Not really a basic film channel though I appreciate that "box office" sometimes refers to film takings.

Selby still has one fight left on his matchroom deal. His fights are shown on Sky because as per his promotional contract matchroom retain his uk tv rights and Sky are their exclusive broadcaster.
Amazingly Selby pays management and promotional fees to Sanigar, Matchroom and Haymon. After you also take out his Trainers commission he must be left with next to nothing.

thanks for correcting. Even though he 'promotes' them you only have to listen to Hearns interviews to know he doesn't really have much to do with him. Strange setup

I remember ITV Select. I used to use the service now and again for films.
I used to have OnDigital(ITV Digital).
I not sure if an other pay per view film channel would work now a days
For unless you really want to watch the latest film you can wait 12 months or so and get some of the films on Sky Movies(Sky Cinema) or get them on the likes ofNetflix 12 to 18 months after they come out.
I know some that have downgraded there Sky package by cancelling the movies package and moved to Netflix for films but have the Sky Family package just so they can keep using Sky Box Sets and get channels in HD.
A pay per view sports service may work depending on what sports it was shown and the price.

Selbys case is more confusing because he is still managed by Sanigar so he effectively has 2 managers/advisors in Sanigar and Haymon. However plenty of fighters have Haymon as well as a promoter, Selby and DeGale are no different to say Wilder who is "advised" by Haymon but still promoted by Lou DiBella.
Hearn isn't be any means out of the picture but certainly has a reduced role in their careers - for the time being. He has made no secret of his desire to promote shows on the other side of the pond and may well do so under the PBC banner. If so - both Degale and Selby would presumably be front and centre of this.
Both Degale and Selby are coming to the end of the Matchroom contracts so it will be interesting to see if they renew and on what terms.
To bring it back slightly on topic, even for both of them to appear on PBC branded ITV shows (if they leave Matchroom) they would still presumably (if the model follows the American model) still need promoters - remember Al Haymon is an "advisor" not a promoter.
*PBC will be most likely dead soon anyway as it is hemorrhaging money and its backers, Waddell & Reed are getting a bit twitchy.

I don't think boxing on free to air TV is a practical model anymore if I'm honest. There just isn't the money there to pay for the purses.

I think it is more that as soon as a boxer builds a profile and is in with a chance of getting a big fight, they will want the money that FTA broadcasters cant afford. What broadcaster wants to invest all the effort promoting an up and coming star for them to run off for a PPV payday?

If I'm not going to pay to watch Joshua fight a bum, or Bellew box some moobs why the hell would I pay to watch an IBO title fight?!?!
The only interesting thing here is, that the undercard seems to On ITV4 and the main event on PPV so maybe it'll be a fiver; which is obviously still too much.
