A strange fight to get underway with. It COULD be a huge deal but this fight is not going to break any records.

This is getting destroyed on boxing forums, and rightly so. This fight would struggle to do decent numbers on FTA, let alone PPV.
We're looking at well below 10,000 PPV buys here at £10. If they go over £20 which I have read in a couple of places then we're looking at under 2,000 buys, possibly even 3 figures. This is going to bomb hard. I'm astonished they've gone with this - whoever at ITV made this decision clearly knows very little about boxing or thinks Eubank Jr is a much bigger star than he actually is. Confirmed that the undercard will be shown on ITV4 - my hope is that the undercard does decent numbers but the PPV bombs and ITV stick with boxing and maybe put fights like this on ITV1 (although it's still a poor fight that pales into comparison with the fights ITV1 were showing 8-10 years ago). My fear is that they'll just not touch boxing again after this. |

I may consider buying the PPV, but if it has ads in it like Sky do, then not a chance! |

Is this really going to be a PPV channel; or a premium subscription one?
Will BT Sport bundle it? Will Sky show it? Have Virgin ever heard of it? I watch virtually no television, but yet seem to have the need to subscribe to Sky Sports, Sky Movies, BT Sport, Premier Sport, Amazon Prime (no really I just got billed for it, it wasn't a choice). Oh, as well as a TV licence and a projector that rates out at over half a kilo-watt! Will this be something else that I end up paying for, or will I dump the lot and just go for Netflix? |

ITV Box Office is PPV. One off viewing of an event once for a fee |

Have ITV any other sports to make the channel worth while.

Surely this is always going to be only the lowest quality fights.
As said above Sky Box Office will always have the biggest at least domestic fights and you then have Box Nation PPV / subscription channel but not sure how that will change when it becomes part of the BT package. The costs must be quite high to try and get this on Sky for just a few hours unless Sky give ITV a discount on some of their capacity as they already have the deals for ITV Encore. I am amazed at the talk above this could be £20 ! I think £5 is pushing it especially as the undercard is free on ITV4. So unless they get on Sky it will be watching online or if ITV amend their apps on Connected TVs and various other boxes. |
