The rules about not letting people in the Big Brother house with mental issues/criminal convictions etc, only happened on Channel 4. Since channel 5 took charge, all such rules were thrown away. The same way as the psychological testing of prospective housemates was also cancelled when BB changed channels.
Channel 5 would put anybody in the house no matter what their criminal past.
Worth noting too that, whenever BOTS suddenly starts using guests they've never had on before, they more often than not end up as housemates on the next CBB series. They get them in as guests on BOTS a few times to welcome them into the family. So Grantham is probably being lined up already.
