I don't think a convicted murderer should ever appear on a show like CBB. And he only served 10 years? How unfair for the family of the taxi driver.

These days 10 years could be considered a long stretch for killing someone.

It was a long time ago, he did his time and he has been rehabilitated for over forty years.

He was employed by the BBC and CBB would be glad to have him.

The task where they get to perform their "talent" would be interesting. What would he choose, the re-enactment of him robbing and killing a cab driver or the re-enactment of one of his webcam masturbation sessions. Decisions decisions.

So what if it was a long time ago. It might feel long ago, because to you it was an anonymous person and had no bearing on your life. But that's potentially 40 years of life he robbed an innocent man of. 40 years of pain for his parents, possibly wife, children, that never goes away.

Ok, he worked with the BBC, he is rehabilitated. I still don't think he should be allowed to do CBB, to be potentially cheered and hailed a hero.

CBB is hardly getting the Nobel bleedin' PEACE prize you know.

He has PAID his debt to society. It happened, there is nothing more he can do.

He was on Eastenders for years, back before multi-channel tv took off when it was getting insane ratings.
30.1m viewers tuned in for the Dirty Den Divorce Special.
Him going on CBB is literally chump change in ratings terms.
The family of the dead guy will have come to terms with seeing his ugly mug on the tv long ago.

I didn't say it was.

Look at it this way, would it be right for Oscar Pistorius to be on CBB in 5 years time after he's released for murdering his girlfriend?

I get that. I'm sure it was a tough pill to swallow, but at least with Eastenders he was just doing a job, playing a character.

CBB is a popularity contest and that's why I think it's morally wrong to have a murderer on.

Look at it this way - Grantham was properly convicted and served his time which was probably the standard 15 reduced to 10 FORTY odd years ago.

He hasn't had a conviction since and has worked as an actor for many years.

When Pistorius has CONFESSED, served a proper sentence and kept his nose clean for FORTY years, then I don't see why he couldn't go on some trashy reality show.

I disagree.

It doesn't matter if he's kept his nose clean for 40 years. The man he murdered in cold blood might still be alive today, which means the ramifications of what he did extend TO THIS DAY. So no, I don't think he should be allowed on a popularity contest.

That's what I thought too ! Admittingly I only know him from Fort Boyard as used to love watching it as a kid when it first came out on ch5 and when Challenge bought the rights a couple of years ago to show it again, I was bored one night and googled his name just to see what he was like in real life. I was horrified to find out he was a convicted murderer

What I don't understand is how did he get into such high-paid TV roles such as EastEnders and Fort Boyard with a murder conviction to his name??
