Just when I had decided BBUS was getting tired and couldn't be rejuvenated and would probably fold soon. Instead it's expanding and will be running at the same time as Survivor?

What annoys me in the US is how you get some good new competitive reality shows for only one season. It seems much easier for them to just keep with what's been going for years.

Ah! I see it is to be only available on a digital platform so I guess I won't be able to access it.

Wow, that's cool I guess. Assuming it will be a low budget version? I'd expect the cheap competitions from previous seasons to return. Though some of the really good past ones are probably cheap to make like the one where they run from one side of the garden to the other moving fluid in a small cup to fill a second container. Can't expect two elaborate competitions a week without television advertising behind it.
Shouldn't impact the annual summer event, the casuals wont be watching it so its ratings should remain sufficient. Just something for the die hards. |

No idea about the budget, I never thought Big Brother had that big a budget anyway. |

The format for the new season — developed expressly for a digital audience — is still being tweaked, and it is unclear yet how exactly the live eviction episodes will be presented.

Get all major competitions and ceremonies live and it will be an improvement.

It'll act as a good chance for the franchise to experiment ad well. The cbs show is suffering this year so the digital version will allow them to try new character types, competitions, editing styles and hopefully no connection to the Califiores.

CBS’ regular summer editions of Big Brother will remain in tact, the network confirms. Also, Julie Chen will be involved in the digital edition in some capacity, but not necessarily as host.
http://tvline.com/2016/08/02/big-bro...bs-all-access/The information CBS gave about her role was vague, but I don't think there is another role she could fill. I'd be shocked if Julie was on board, but was not the host - seems illogical. |

I feel like they should do a live opening episode, with live feeds beginning immediately afterwards. They could do the usual intros, and then each go in individually after a 90 or so second interview with Julie as with BBUK. They could even begin an endurance competition immediately afterwards on the feeds.
With it being online only there is no need to have no feeds for the first week, as we see with the regular seasons. |

I still don't see the reason for the blackout, they never had that in the UK with live feed I think.
CBS isn't short of unpaid interns, use them for a week before the show. |

This must be so that the 20th season could be a proper 2nd all star version?
I can't imagine any returning players being in bb19 |
