As Peter has said Radio was dropped from iPlayer some time ago, this was as a cost saving exercise due to low usage via TV platforms.
Taken from BBCiPlayer FAQS:
Quote:
“The underlying technology powering BBC iPlayer had reached the end of its life and needed upgrading. With Radio On Demand receiving little usage and it costing so much in terms of technical support, continuing to host Radio On Demand in its current format through BBC iPlayer became both technically and financially unfeasible.
On Demand Radio is very popular with our audience on platforms such as the PC, tablet and mobile platforms. However, through TV platforms, Radio on Demand in BBC iPlayer received comparatively very low usage.
We believe that radio and TV are used differently and as such, should be treated differently. While TV watching usually happens one programme (or series) at a time, Radio listening is more commonly an ongoing stream of music and voice programmes, which you might want to leave on for hours whilst also doing something else around the house…
For these reasons we’ve been removing On Demand Radio from BBC iPlayer, and are rethinking how best Radio on TVs could be made available to TV audiences.”
