Saira's class/health and "intellectual" snobbery had her hopping about like the lead interviewer on an employment agency open day asking the young uns this and that to the point of winding them up and basically creating the "Squad". Twenty five years ago James Whale had a show were he and assorted Tory guests leared at invited lap dancers and encouraged female interns to get boobs and bums out. His hypocrisy is born of his snobbery against Marnie doing that on her own (ill advised admittedly) terms and Bear etc talking about that stuff.
It is a generational and cultural clash. Bovey, Renee and Sam are demonstrating how you handle the young folk - James and Saira are acting like contemptuous supply teachers in an inner city school and getting the results. Biggins is acting like a rich dude who had his wallet nicked by last night's rentboy.
It is a mini class war and as unpleasant as the "Squad"'s actions can be they are responding to ugly passive aggressive triggers from those they now target.”
Bit in bold - that terminology is very interesting. The young 'uns, as though they're children for whom allowances must be made. These are adults - and adults with, in at least one or two cases, considerable fan-bases. Perhaps if someone had asked them a few pertinent questions and forced them to consider their answers a few years ago they wouldn't have turned out quite so obnoxious. What's so wrong with asking them questions? Shouldn't they be questioning what it is they do for a living? Shouldn't they be encouraged to reflect a bit on who they are?
I know nothing of James outside of BB, but after the last 4/5 days he has demonstrated the patience of a saint with their antics.
