I may be wrong but I think he was also joining in with the stupid noises although not physically participating in the head slapping etc.
It's the physical aspect that James was objecting to, quite rightly in my opinion. They wound him up deliberately - never wind somebody up if you don't know what they may do in retaliation. If you are prepared to wind somebody up, accept the reaction in good grace. |

There has been no bullying at all. A few confrontations that you would expect, and where both sides have more than held their own.
The only really unacceptable thing that has happened so far was James Whale pouring coffee over Bear. Lewis and Bear shouting crude comments at Saira and James was bullying. The humiliation of Saira by Marnie was bullying. |

It would have only been slightly unacceptable if the coffee was already in steaming hot water!

I am sure Lewis was in on the hug though when one of them said 'let's give James a hug', I thought it was all three of them.

Really? I found the sight of Bear, Lewis and Heavy surrounding James to rub his head while jeering and mocking disturbing. The comment that the more he complained the more of it he'd get was definitely bullying.

I am afraid I have to disagree with you in the strongest terms. If the coffee had been made and was scalding hot, it would still have been perfectly acceptable, indeed preferable.
![]() THAT, I thought, would be worthy of BB talking to him. |

So it is ok for 3 men bear being one of them to invade someone's personal space and to constantly touch him and to be asked 3 times to stop it, but they chose to carry on invading James personal space so can't see how you can single James out when he was only reacting to constant invasion of personal space and he want laughing when he asked them to stop it -they wanted a reaction and they got one
Bear and Heavy wouldn't take 'pack it in' for a answer and continued to pat and paw James' head until he threw coffee over him. Plus Lewis joined in and goaded James too! It was definitely these three ganging up on James and YES bullying him! BB should have stepped in! It was awful seeing 3 lads harassing an older man! |

Oh right, I apologise if I'm remembering inaccurately - I honestly don't remember him doing that, because I recall just after the fire alarm went off and he was at the oven cooking at the time.

Are you joking, James put up with loads before he done that with 3 of them goading him! I would have given them a right mouthful and Bear deserved having the coffee thrown over him for being so damn obnoxious and arrogant! It was group bullying!

Bear, Lewis, Marnie and Heavy D are certainly demonstrating playground bullying and playground everything else. BUT Saira and James have been the most invasively physically aggressive in passive ways on Saira's part and actively in response to pisstaking on James's part.
Saira's class/health and "intellectual" snobbery had her hopping about like the lead interviewer on an employment agency open day asking the young uns this and that to the point of winding them up and basically creating the "Squad". Twenty five years ago James Whale had a show were he and assorted Tory guests leared at invited lap dancers and encouraged female interns to get boobs and bums out. His hypocrisy is born of his snobbery against Marnie doing that on her own (ill advised admittedly) terms and Bear etc talking about that stuff. It is a generational and cultural clash. Bovey, Renee and Sam are demonstrating how you handle the young folk - James and Saira are acting like contemptuous supply teachers in an inner city school and getting the results. Biggins is acting like a rich dude who had his wallet nicked by last night's rentboy. It is a mini class war and as unpleasant as the "Squad"'s actions can be they are responding to ugly passive aggressive triggers from those they now target. |

So despite them being told to stay out of James's space, which they continued to ignore and get in his personal space that wasn't done in a intimidating/bullying manner? Behave - James should have lamped Bear. Marnie being egged on by the 3 bullies to do that in a housemates face not bullying behaviour? hmmm - what some people find acceptable behaviour. |

Bear was already sitting down (done with winding up, or bullying James) when James poured the coffee on him. I thought Boom, Lewis and Bear were in the wrong when they continued to wind up (bully) James after he told them to stop. I also thought James was wrong to react, once they had stopped, by pouring coffee on only Bear who then responded poorly by reacting to that by pouring sugar and water on James. They all acted/reacted poorly imo.

It was bullying all right. Lewis had even said they were giving Saira a day off and would have to find another target. And they found James.

So what should James have done then? What would you have done in that situation? I know I wouldn't have been able to turn a blind eye. I don't think I would have thrown coffee on anyone, but I would have snapped, sworn and shouted at them and definitely pushed them firmly away if they had been touching me or surrounding me in that way. Would that have been an over reaction, do you think?
