i wasn't expecting much of this but then it leaked and everyone's reaction made me think it would be a pop masterpiece. in the end i think it's probably the best thing we've had from her in years but nowhere near her 90's/00's heyday. 6.5/10.

Give it a few days, keep listening and you'll feel the same as the rest of us.

90s/early 00s Britney her heyday As a product, and financially, probably, but creatively, arguably not.

I prefer Britney Jean At least with that album they had songs I could put on at a party or put on before I went out. This album has none of that. That's the Britney that I love!!

Britney Jean had some great tracks but poorly produced alien; passenger and perfume were brill songs .Also Work B is a standout. Now that I've found you was a hidden gem. but overall as an album it was a mixed bag. This album imo sounds a step forward for her. Her vocals are more dynamic and i still admire her tenacity to allow her vocals be so manipulated for affect.

Sorry I love Britney Jean. Imo it doesn't deserve the hate that it gets. There are some real stand out tracks on there (Work bitch, Alien, Now that you found me).

I don't love Britney Jean but I don't hate it either. It has some good songs on it. I do agree about the production though. A lot of the songs feel more like unfinished demos and the vocals were very robotic and processed. The vocals on Glory sound more natural but they are heavily processed on Private Show and What You Need.

I mean feel free to like Britney Jean but I refuse to listen to an album where a backing vocalist is singing lead on several of the songs.

Britney Jean was terrible (in my opinion) but that was mostly down to the production. I was so glad to see William wasn't anywhere to be seen on this album.

Caught the end of channel 5s shocking moments to see britneys 07 meltdown at number 2
Fast forward 9 years later I have just watched her vmas performance from last night, and although her miming skills remain questionable, it's remarkable and quite touching to see how far she's come when she could have quite easily slipped into the opposite direction, I hope she's happy she seems to be

On an album note, I'm only 6 tracks in but I really like clumsy, think I might be the only one

I'd give Britney's new album two stars, it is average in my opinion. I think there aren't enough decent songs and 'Private Show', 'Clumsy' have been ruined with Britney impersonating Micky Mouse. I think this new Britney album is by far her weakest

I wouldn't describe those as bangers, Me Against the Music is weak. If you're looking for bangers Till the World Ends, Hold It Against Me etc

This is her best album since Femme Fetale.

Loved her at the VMAs last night too.

I was watching that show too and I saw the bit about Britney's meltdown. It made me see every new Britney album, performance or song as an achievement as she could have easily gone the other way. Instead of new albums and performances we could have been looking at tributes and reading obituaries If things really had got bad in 2007 then Blackout, Circus, FF, Britney Jean and Glory would not ever have happened and her children would have been left without a mother Last night's VMAs performance was a far cry from the 2007 one. She was alive and seemed to be enjoying performing again.

Side note: I loved Britney's performance at the VMA's. I thought her dancing is the best its been in recent years and you can tell she's actually enjoying herself. I actually preferred her voice on Me, Myself & I compared to the orginial. I just wish people would stop acting surprised & outraged when she mimes, she hasn't sung live in what, 10 years plus? Let it go!
