Fast forward 9 years later I have just watched her vmas performance from last night, and although her miming skills remain questionable, it's remarkable and quite touching to see how far she's come when she could have quite easily slipped into the opposite direction, I hope she's happy she seems to be
On an album note, I'm only 6 tracks in but I really like clumsy, think I might be the only one”

If things really had got bad in 2007 then Blackout, Circus, FF, Britney Jean and Glory would not ever have happened and her children would have been left without a mother
Last night's VMAs performance was a far cry from the 2007 one. She was alive and seemed to be enjoying performing again.”
I didn't manage to catch it last night as I was watching other things but I did record it and watched it today while fast forwarding through most of it. I think it has been on before but this time it's been updated and featured new interviews.
Anyway I have to agree with what you have both said. It's amazing at how much Britney's life has changed since 2007 and early 2008 after everything she has been through. If her father didn't step in when he did who knows where she would be right now. So that's why I don't exactly understand much if not all the hate she got especially when she was getting her life back on track and was still possible in a vulnerable place. She didn't exactly ask to be put on a stage back then. I think her father and her management team had wanted to get her in the studio for something to do and didn't even think of or let alone even expect an album to come from her time there or even be released in 2007 maybe for release after when she was in a more positive place.
It must have took her a lot of courage to get back on that stage at the VMAs. I know she has been to the VMAs as a guest, presenter and to pick up awards but to get back on the stage where the performance didn't go well or exactly to plan and was so heavily slated for and to do well as I've said took a lot of courage. Her performance was good and I liked the mash-up of the songs and I know she mimed not perfectly. Her timing on Me, Myself & I was totally off and was very rushed to keep in time with the song. Although she did sound amazing on the track. I don't get why people are moaning about her miming though, she has done it throughout her career with the odd live performance here and there.
I liked the performance she looked like she was having fun and the chemistry/sexual tension between her and G-Eazy. All you have to do is check out the ending to the performance YouTube link below. Looked like he wanted to kiss her after mouthing some of the song to her although it could have been all for the performance and probably was. I wasn't exactly wowed by her wardrobe choice it wasn't what she was wearing but mainly the colour.

As for her new album. I'm loving it and I think it's one of her best. I'm loving all of the songs on it and have been playing it on spotify a lot. I liked Britney Jean but wasn't a massive fan of it and liked a handful but I don't think it needs or should have gotten all the hate it should have. She didn't promote her last album well like she is with this one which may have lead to it's not so great sales or charting position. She was rehearsing for her Vegas Residency and wanting to get that right. Where as now she's got her dates set and knows what she can do when and she may be able to move dates around to promote outside of the US like she is with the ITunes festival.
Everything she had done and achieved is amazing especially with a career spanning nearly two decades not many have a career last that long let alone a year.
