After the dust has settled I've decided I prefer Britney Jean. It's my favourite album from her. I love Glory too though.

People really need to stop saying they prefer BJ or love BJ, write Britney Jean because... you know... snigger

I was tempted to say something along these lines yesterday

I liked her performance, it wasn't the most exciting performance ever and Gwhatshisface was in it far too much imo, but the difference in her is outstanding. She actually looked like she enjoyed it and wanted to be there which is something I didn't think we'd ever see again.”

The song was Me, Myself & I. It's one of G-Eazy's song, released earlier in the year. Here is a link to the orginial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K533gW3boIY . I love Britney's vocals on it though so much more!!

I do agree the difference in her is just outstanding. I mean compare this VMA performance to her Gimme More one.

I see what you mean They should specify whether they are talking about the 2013 Britney Spears album or something else

Glory is #1 in Ireland. Should be announced as the official #2 in the UK later today.

Amazing result considering Britney Jean's terribleness.

Speaking of. Has anyone heard Will.i.am's new version of Where Is The Love ? I know it's for charity but he's ruined his own song!!!! It's an auto-tuned mess!

You just described every single song will.i.am has ever written or produced.

I didn't even realise that the album was out today until it came up in my suggested section on Amazon. Listening to it on Apple Music at the moment. Still not crazy about the lead single but I'll post thoughts when I've listened to the full deluxe edition.

Has she released it exclusively through Apple Music? I know that they're really pushing Apple Music and the album, through that medium because she's filmed an EE advert with Kevin Bacon for it. I saw it in the cinema the other day.

So happy the album is number two! Will she ever achieve a no.1 in the UK?

Ah thanks. I would've preferred less of him and more of her but there you go.

Well let's not go mad. She only sold 10,000 copies. Still, only 15,000 more needed to outsell Britney Jean. Doable, surely.

one imagines it will drop out of the chart next week.
i would never say Britney is 'irrelevant' though, i just think she needs a smash single, ''make me'' is not great for a lead single, better songs on the album, but nothing that could be considered chart worthy hits.
people slag off will.i.am but her last number one was featuring on his song!

Not to piss on the parade but the reported sales put the debut sales of her #2 album at 2,000 less than the debut sales of her #39 album.

She needs to release one of the really catchy songs off the album as a single to get more people to buy the album. I expect a lot of people who prefer a dancier/poppier/melodic Britney would have been put off by the dull, tuneless r'n'b dirge that is Make Me, with the obligatory rent-a-rapper, and might not bother with the album, thinking it'll just be more of the same. I'm sure if she releases either Liar, Man On The Moon, Change Your Mind, Hard To Forget Ya or Invitation it might get more people interested, if they think there's more of a variety of music on the album. I hope so anyway.

Those are all the worst tracks. I suggest she releases Love Me Down, Slumber Party, Just Luv Me, Just Like Me, or If I'm Dancing.

Is that all it takes to get a no.2 album these days?

Just watched her VMA performance. OK I was expecting miming but seriously Britney, you could have at least prerecorded a 'live' version rather than literally mouthing the words to the studio version.

Good news about Glory being number 2 though

But isn't that pretty much what she's always done? I've said before, I don't know why people expect Britney to change what she's done ever since she debuted.

So much for streaming being bad for the charts, according to some people. It has benefited Britney

Benefitting Britney doesn't mean it's good for the chart.

Streaming has definitely killed the singles charts. Not sure about the album chart though.

I can't stand the monotonous Love Me Down or Just Luv Me. For me those 2 songs, along with Clumsy are the worst tracks on the album. Generic r'n.'b tripe that I hate with a passion! Just Like Me is nice, although maybe not single material. Slumber Party isn't too bad and If I'm Dancing I quite like but it's spoilt for me by that stupid male voice shouting 'stick' or whatever he's saying all the way through! What is the point of that, it sounds ridiculous!!

I think the songs i mention would have more crossover mainstream appeal. I don't think 'Man on the Moon', in its cheesiness, would live it down as a single in 2016. I also think Invitation is too cheesy to be single material.

However, I'm not sure any of the songs I mention would have true mainstream appeal apart from possible Love Me Down or If I'm Dancing. (I do agree about the male voice in that song).
