Not liking Private Show but I'm sure there's bound to be some songs on the album that I like.

I'm undecided about Private Show at the moment, but maybe I need to listen to it more. Make Me is a grower though and I'm starting to like it. I found a version without the rap on Youtube and that's the one I listen to now. I listened to Private Show walking around college today. I went in to help a student with human rights law. At least I'll have listened to Glory in all its, erm, glory before the new term starts

Hate the cover, not a fan of the title, let down with 'Make Me', disappointed with 'Private Show'... Not looking great for me this era haha, but at least Britney seems to be happy with the new direction that she's taking

I hope there's some songs like Gimme More/Piece of Me/Toxic/Til the World Ends - quite 'clubby' Britney songs - on the album, but I'm not sure with this new direction

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for Britney as she seems in a good place, but I'm just gonna go off and listen to Blackout and Femme Fatale on repeat
im disappointed aswell which i say with a heavy heart.
already i actually believe it or not prefer most of the songs on Britney Jean to the 2 we have heard of the new era.

You are a brainbox I bet, aren't you

I like Private Show more than Make Me, it just seems more punchy somehow, and Make Me just annoys me with the waily 'ooohs'. I don't like the rap part but I just wish she had chosen Lil Wayne, Tyga, Wiz Khalifa, Chance or even Snoop to do it. I have no doubt there will be some on the album I like though, there's not a single Britney album without at least 3 or 4 standout tracks.

cnbcwatcher check out Jai Waetford, I'm sure you'll love him

I like Britney, but she sounds awful on this song At least she sounds a bit decent on 'Make me' 'Make me' has actually grown on me and I like it now, but 'Private Show' is let down by poor vocals. She sounds like a young kid singing

See I thought Make Me was poorly sung, I think it's just the style of Private Show. Still not the best, but I definitely prefer it. The album will be good though, it's a Britney album. She wouldn't give away the best song first.

Haha yeah I enjoy it though and the challenge of research is part of it for me. Hardest part was finding a topic and supervisor but I think I might have one. Private Show is ok once you get used to the vocals. I could see it being more of a hit with the general public as it sounds more like a single whereas Make Me sounds more like an album track. I think Make Me is what ITZ would sound like if it was released in 2016 rather than 2003. Plus people in the States would know Private Show from the perfume advert. Wasn't Snoop in the snippet of the planned Outrageous video? I don't even know why they had to add a rap to Make Me. I'm sure the rest of the album will be good though. It's hard to judge it after only hearing 2 songs. What's good about him? I've never heard of him Just curious.

Yeah, Snoop was meant to be in Outrageous.

I remember the challenge of finding a topic etc for my dissertation. I ended up writing about the effect of the French revolution on German Jews.

Yes, Private Show seems more alive somehow, more punchy and vibrant, Make Me feels like going through the motions to me.

Jai is great due to his awesome vocals. Check out Living Not Dreaming, and Heart Miles. Fair enough if it's not your thing

Maybe he would have been better if they had to put a rap into Make Me. I had the same challenge finding one for my Masters dissertation but I found one. I take it you studied history or politics or something like that? I just played Private Show at home. Parents hate it. Mum thought it sounded more like a Madonna song and she can't stand Madonna. Dad can't remember what it sounds like Maybe Private Show will be a bigger hit with the public. We'll have to wait and see What kind of music does he do?

I LOVE "Make Me" it's a great mid tempo R&B song and Britney sounds delicious on it! I like how Britney has shifted gears from big club bangers to a more chilled and urban sound. I'm excited for the new era.

Oh and "Private Show" is my hot new favourite... Very soulful and blusey and vocally Britney is throwing in a lot of tricks which I love, it's fun yet sexy.

Just listened to Private Show. Did she inhale helium before recording it? Her voice sounds ridiculous! Not keen on it at all. Disappointed. I miss the catchy songs of 00's Britney. I don't just mean early 00's, even Circus has some great songs with lovely melodies. I just find her new stuff so monotonous and dull. I've heard the rap-free version of Make Me now, which improves it for me a bit (I can't stand rap breaks on pop songs by rent-a-rappers) but overall I still think it's a weak song by Britney's past standards. I'm still hoping there'll be something I like on the new album but, going by the two songs released so far I'm not expecting much.

Btw, how come there's no video for Make Me?

Seems she's finally started promotion!

She's been teasing what looks like the Make Me video on the new Instagram stories.
She's on Ryan Seacrest today.
Cancelled her POM shows the weekend of VMAs (performance?)
Now her fansites are saying she's appearing on Carpool Karaoke!!
Plus she is headlining the iHeart Radio Festival in Vegas.

Hopefully she does some UK promo before the album release!

I couldn't agree more. Britney sings far too high on this record. Why doesn't she use her lower register more, like 'From the bottom of my broken heart' and 'Soda Pop'? She sounds a lot better singing low, than too high, like she does on 'Private Show'

The Make Me video is out!

It has been completely reshot and it's one of her worst videos ever! She looks amazing but it's just a bore-fest.

1min 30sec of the original video has leaked and it is so much better and actually seemed to have a storyline.

How embarrassing that the album cover is just a still from the music video? They had to redo everything apparently as she didn't like the original version. No wonder it's dreadful.

There's a rumour on the fan sites the video is in 2 parts the end of the released one is how the other version starts...... Well fingers crossed anyway

Surely they would of known while shooting the video how sexy it was gonna be and coils of not put the photos of her filming on social media

I really doubt that rumour is true. The same happened with the Perfume video. Such a shame. Why would she/her team agree to shoot scenes in the original video only to disapprove the end result and go in a completely different direction. Make Me needed a strong video and its ended up with this lip balm ad

Um...

Youtube + Ileanedfromthebest = G-Eazy part of original video that Brit (or someone) didn't like.

Watch it while you can.

Apparently 'creative differences' were to blame. There's a video floating around online of her calling David LaChapelle (original director) an "asshole" while filming a scene in a bulldozer.

This really is a disaster. Such a shame as the song is so good.
