There's a few songs I loved on Britney Jean, don't know why its got such a bad reception.
This new album sounds bad though
I'm quite surprised the record company thinks this is good enough to put out for a superstar like Britney

I didn't like the last album but I'll give this a listen when it comes out. I don't like the lead single though.
Loving DYWCO on first listen. By far the best song that's been released so far from this album. Why wasn't this a lead song over that awful Make Me??

I don't care for any of the songs that have been released so far, which really disappoints me. I'd been hoping to like at least one of them! They're just all so bland! With Do You Wanna Come Over I thought the first verse sounded quite interesting but then the song just didn't go anywhere after that. I was hoping for this big melodic chorus but nothing. I have the feeling I won't be buying her album at this rate, which would be a first for me. I have all her albums, even Britney Jean which I'm not keen on (apart from a couple of songs!) I did wait to buy Britney Jean though, until I got it cheap. I have the feeling I'll be doing the same with the new album, unless there's at least 2 or 3 songs I really like on it. I still listen to Britney a lot, I just ignore her last couple of albums, apart from a few songs. For me her last really consistently good album was Circus. I love that album.

It's really not though IMO, BJ is much better, with the exception of DYWCO. Make Me and Clumsy aren't as good as BJ.

Like I said, I only bought Britney Jean once it came down to just a fraction of it's regular price and I shall no doubt do the same with Glory. I don't think think the new songs are any better than anything on Britney Jean, I think they're all very bland and generic. I bought Britney Jean on CD for about £1 for the 2 songs I like on it (Alien and Passenger) and also just to 'complete' my Britney CD collection. I shall no doubt do the same with Glory, although I'm still holding out hope that there will be at least a few better songs than the 4 she's released so far!
I hated Britney Jean and don't have any hope for Glory based on what I've heard so far. I think I'll be sticking to Britney 1999 - 2011 from now on but it's very disappointing.
I can't at people saying BJ is better. I mean, you are of course entitled to your opinion, but the songs were terrible, under-produced, vocal production was awful, she wasn't even singing on some of the songs. It was a complete mess.

i didnt mind it
it was very much an album of 2 halves for me, but i still listen to it today. love body ache, tik boom, work bitch, perfume, till its gone. prefer all those songs to what i have heard of glory so far unfortunately
though 'make me' has definately grown on me alot

What you've just described is exactly what Glory sounds like so far. The vocals on BJ sound far superior to anything on Glory so far. Make Me is just full of wailing, and doesn't go anywhere. In fact none of the songs so far go anywhere. Private Show sounds like she's inhaled some helium. Clumsy sounds like the vocals have been copied from one part of the recording and pasted onto the wrong part of the song, the supposed vocal 'effects' are jarring, especially on Clumsy, the beat to Clumsy is apparently a 'club banger' but the beat on the chorus is flaccid in the extreme. You expect an amazing beat and it limps its way through to the next verse. The lyrics are terrible, even in comparison to BJ. At least on BJ she was singing about things that mattered, her personal life, her break up, her inner feelings.

I really hope you're right because it's not like I want to hate the album. I've got a huge soft spot for Britney after all these years, having followed her career since day one when I was still a teenager myself. After the crushing disappointment of Britney Jean, I would love to be excited about her music again.

Where has it leaked? I'm curious to hear it but can't seem to find it anywhere.
There are some real career highlights on this, If I'm Dancing, Man on the Moon, Liar (I can imagine a great cowboy/old west themed video for this one) as well as Just Luv Me and Invitation. Definitely an album worthy of her name.
