I agree and the only other time I remember us winning 4-3 after being 3-1 down (apart from the Leicester and Norwich matches) is the 4-3 win at Elland Road in 2001 against Leeds and it was also an injury time winner (from Solano) as well.
Also in all three matches we were 1-0 up before going 3-1 down to eventually win 4-3. vs Man City in 04/05 vs Chelsea in the league cup in 10/11 vs Leeds as you say in 01/02 Liverpool can have their 4-3's at Anfield

Today's team to face Rotherham United (according to the official Newcastle Twitter) is: Quote:
Starting XI: Darlow, Anita, Lascelles, Clark, Dummett, Atsu, Shelvey, Colback, Gouffran, Diame and Gayle. I'm glad Atsu is starting but recently (in my opinion) Colback and Diame have both been playing terrible so why are they again starting ahead of Hayden and Mitrovic respectively unless it's a last chance to prove they should be starting week in and week out which if that's the case hopefully they both have a good game as we need the three points.Subs Bench: Sels, Yedlin, Hanley, Mbemba, Ritchie and Mitrovic. https://twitter.com/NUFC/status/782203424918110208 Also I've just noticed Ritchie is on the bench and where is Perez and also still no Murphy on the bench either. ![]() Finally I know Dummett had an OK game last week but I thought Yedlin might have started this week oh well hopefully we win again today. |

Another (1-0) win.
Atsu with the winning goal this time and we're now (currently) in second place in the Table. We now don't play for two more weeks when we play Brentford at Home on the 15th. |

Another excellent result for us. Seems this time we went with the right attitude and didn't take Rotherham for granted!

Hopefully we play better at home today and get a convincing win for a change at St James' Park. Quote:
Today's team from the official Newcastle Twitter: So no Ritchie today and Colback starting again ahead of Hayden. Starting XI: Darlow, Anita, Lascelles, Clark, Dummett, Atsu, Colback, Shelvey, Gouffran, Perez and Gayle. Subs Bench: Sels, Yedlin, Lazaar, Hanley, Hayden, Diame and Mitrovic. https://twitter.com/NUFC/status/787276852180226048 ![]() Shame Mitrovic still can't get a start alongside Gayle as well. |

Huddersfield lost at home surprisingly so we're still 2nd, a point off the leaders.
Quarter of the way through the season and a quarter of the way to 100 points. I'd quite happily settle for second and end the season now TBH - getting promotion has to be most important goal for this season. Obviously finishing top and getting 100 points would be great, but like I say, promotion is all we really need. Looks like we could be passing the Mackems and the Smoggies going the other way come the end of the season

At half time we're currently 0-0.
Poor first half from us we need to improve in the second half. |

Again not an amazing performance but we're doing enough. Second half much better. Gayle is a goal machine.
Things are looking so much better right now after a wobbly start

I've been to watch Newcastle at SJP a fair few times this season and one thing is continually disappointing me (and the surrounding fans to me apparently) is how Colback is starting so many games.
The guy is literally a guaranteed yellow card every day, doesn't pass forwards, very poor first touch. And when you have a midfield that we have so much talent in, it's extremely disappointing when he's making the first team, he started against Brentford and the groans from the fans were for all to see. Lazaar I've only seen against Wolves in the EFL Cup and I was there on the touchline he was hogging, he cannot cross a ball for toffee in the game I saw him in! It seems to be Shelvey, Ritchie and Gayle saving this team at present. If it wasn't for those three we'd be very average. |

So we play Ipswich Town on Saturday (at home) hopefully Mitrovic starts alongside Gayle.
Gayle has scored 11 goals in our 13 games and is way on course to beat our leading goalscorers in our 2008/2009 promotion season which was both Carroll and Nolan with 17 goals. However, we do need to score more goals from other areas as well and not rely on Gayle all the time as our second highest goalscorers this season only have three (Shelvey, Perez and Gouffran) at the moment. At least our goal difference is plus 16 (already) which is almost like an extra point and could be very vital at the end of the season. |

Yes, they're our biggest performers this year but they're by no means the only ones. Should we not be celebrating it instead of moaning as if they're not contributing? You're basically saying "if we didn't have them we wouldn't be doing so well" Well yes obviously. But we do have them. What about the contributions of Hanley? Clark? Sels? Darrow? We have a squad now or players that can perform now no matter who plays and if people do underperform, including Colback believe me it will cost them their place which they will have to earn back, |

Brilliant 3-0 win.
Goals from Perez (2) and Ritchie. We're now 3 points clear with a goal difference of +19. Preston at home next in the EFL Cup. |
