Hopefully we can win tomorrow against Blackburn at home and make it 10 wins in a row in all competitions.

Poor first half we need to improve in the second half.

Both Shelvey and Dummett's red cards have been overturned:

Great (4-0) win today.

Also another hat-trick from Gayle as well.

The stats on Final Score as the game was being reported on was embarrassingly one sided. There was hardly any of the yellow bars that represent the away team.

As good a game as we've had all season and it's good to get back to winning ways. I'm looking forward to the next 2 games and hopefully we can get 6 points from them and look again at where that leaves us after that.

So we play Wigan away tomorrow and hopefully we win but we've not got a good record there in the seven matches we've played at the DW Stadium as we've only won once (in 2011) and lost the other six times most recently in 2013.

Proud of 9 away wins before Christmas

And it was an important win with Brighton pegging the margin back to a point last night.

Bit of a break before thoughts turn back to Boxing Day which is a pretty big game at home to Sheffield Wednesday. There's an opportunity here to go on another big run

Hopefully, our home form can improve now as we've already lost three at home (Huddersfield, Wolves and Blackburn) this season and it's vital with two home games (Sheffield Wednesday and Nottingham Forest) in a row now.

Our away form is great though.

If you're in or around Newcastle and can get to the metrocentre, The Works in the Blue quarter are selling copies of "Got, Not Got, The Lost World of Newcastle United" for £3.00 (rrp £12.99).
Picked one up as a Christmas pressie for myself last Friday..

Honestly, its a proper nostalgia fest of being a fan in the 70's, 80's and 90's. From Panini stickers and Subbutteo to ESSO garage badges.

Here's our results on Boxing Day since 2000:

2000: Won 2-1 at home against Leeds United
2001: Won 3-0 at home against Middlesbrough
2002: Lost 4-3 away at Bolton Wanderers
2003: Drew 1-1 away at Leicester City
2004: Drew 2-2 away at Blackburn Rovers
2005: Lost 2-0 away at Liverpool
2006: Lost 2-1 away at Bolton Wanderers
2007: Lost 1-0 away at Wigan Athletic
2008: Lost 2-1 away at Wigan Athletic
2009: Drew 2-2 away at Sheffield Wednesday
2010: Lost 3-1 at home against Manchester City
2011: Won 2-0 away at Bolton Wanderers
2012: Lost 4-3 away at Manchester United
2013: Won 5-1 at home against Stoke City
2014: Lost 3-1 away at Manchester United
2015: Lost 1-0 at home against Everton

So we've lost our last two matches on Boxing Day and four of our last six so hopefully our match against Sheffield Wednesday we end up getting a good result this time.

Good win at home, I just wish we were more consistent at home with our results it seems (at the moment) we win one then we lose the next one lately.

Oh well, two away matches in a row now in the Championship first Blackburn on Monday and then Brentford on the 16th of January.

Extremely bad result.

Unless we spend big in January on transfers coming in (in my opinion) we won't be going up this season unfortunately with the way it's going as we've already lost 7 matches this season.

Colback is terrible and cost us a result today and without Shelvey we don't have a plan B .
