Just because it's a lesser crime that doesn't mean it should be swept under the carpet.

To make jokes aimed at victims of bullying using the same subject matter as the bullies is unacceptable.

If you condemn the bully you also condemn the hangers on.

And being that there has been some in-fighting between Bear, Lewis and Heavy if they had said the same thing you could just as easily say it was "satire".

It wouldn't change the fact that the target was the women and not Heavy.

This is not a place to be productive. It's a place to air opinions. We are free to criticise housemates we don't like.

Have you said the same thing to people criticising other housemates or is it just Biggins for whom criticism is an "unproductive" activity?

But Biggins wasn't part of this supposed bullying, because he pushed it to it's absurd extreme, that's why it was funny.

That's just an excuse. He may not be the main provocateur but he is contributing to the problem by making light of the situation and making the women the butt of the "joke".

lol...calm down babes, I guess through your rose coloured glasses you entirely missed the bit where i said I have no particular for like Biggins? lol ... I have no allegiance to anyone in this CBB believe me! Criticise whomever you want, I merely answered on a thread, just a point, an opinion. You carry on love, fire right in, you're on a roll....and enjoying it too...far be it for me to stop you. I ain't being drawn into your net, unless you quote me again of course and even then, you'd have to get lucky

They weren't the butt of the joke. They were the audience for the joke. The butt of the joke was Boom boy.

And a very good way of diffusing a tense situation is to send it up which was what he did.

And I am not a fan of Biggins ( I never got over him playing the odious Rev Osbourne Whitworth in Poldark - I know its only a character but I have never been able to separate him from the role) and I would say exactly the same even if Bear had made the crack.

Maybe he doesn't view the women as victims and was genuinely having a laugh with the task? I haven't seen any pattern of him contributing to any supposed bullying of one particular person/group.

I'm not a Biggins fan, but it was a joke at Heavy D's expense.

(As countless others have already said)

I just don't think you have understood the joke OP. Simple as that.

Exactly - and WE were too, well, those of us that understood that he was taking the rise out of the stupid men, not the girls.

i see your point and it would be valid had it not been for the fact the recipient of the order took it as a joke and therefore it is nothing to be up in arms about.

Assuming you're being genuine, you're reading things that weren't there. You should also bear in mind they're edited highlights, so no true read can be had as too much information is missing.

That wouldn't be a joke, bud.

And it would have added to the tension rather than attempt to diffuse or make light of it.

Not a fan of the bloke but was clearly meant as a joke, would be very surprised if anyone in there took any offence to it.

Context, intent and tone of delivery make a difference to how people take something. Words are only a small part of communication.

Delivery. If Biggins' tone and manner had an air of aggression or threat, he would be perceived differently. Rightly or wrongly, that's what people subconsciously pick up on.

I've known people give off a vibe that hasn't been a true reflection, and they have suffered because of it. Likewise, it's entirely possible for an evil person to give off a nice vibe that cons people. But they're the exceptions.

And as James was saying last night to play successful pranks you need to do it with an element of charm. Bear, to quote Norman Stanley Fletcher, is a charmless nerk.

The only reasonable men in there are James and Ricky.”

He said it in jest unlike Heavy who insisted the girls wash his dirty pants. I swear some people on here have had a sense of humour bypass.

bloody hell someone people need to get out more and stop rushing to be offended at everything, they were talking about the disgusting jobs they were given he then said the comment and everyone laughed, clearly joking with his friends in the house but someone doesn't like biggins so he must have been serious and actually wanted someone else to wipe his arse.

OP is completely pathetic over this
