There is a time and a place for "jokes" of that nature. Aiming such jokes towards victims of continuous sexual harassment is not appropriate in any way.

As I said, he COULD have aimed the joke at the perpetrator i.e. Heavy D. It would have been far more satirical AND a direct dig at Heavy if he said "Heavy D, would you like to wipe my bum?" as that would have made it a "taste of your own medicine" type of joke.

Instead he continued to make the women the subject of demeaning behaviour by aiming his request at them. If he wanted to "lighten the mood" he should have completely left them out of it.

That is what makes the "joke" more than just a joke and a tacit form of bullying.

The only way you can seriously tackle bullying is to make EVERYBODY involved accountable, not just the ring leaders.

Sometimes the outsiders who tacitly join in the main bully don't even realise what they're doing is harmful. That doesn't mean they should just get away with it. They need to know why their behaviour is wrong.

OP is completely pathetic over this”

Never said that. I have said countless times why his "joke" was inappropriate. If you are so offended by differing viewpoints perhaps you are the one who needs to "get out more".

good lord. it wasn't a "request." it was a joke to demonstrate how absurd heavy d was being.

he was mocking heavy d, not the women.

i have no idea why you don't understand that.

who the hell are you to decide his joke is inappropriate? Saira is not shy in coming forward with her opinion, she did not, if fact she cracked up, considering the comments were said to her I think its fair to say her opinion matters most in this case, you going around looking for a reason to be offended, if this really does bother you then I suggest you stick to Cbeebies in future so you're safe from upset.

And likewise, if my contrasting opinion to yours is such a cause of distress I suggest you stick to the Cbeebies forum.

I won't be there so feel free to indulge yourself.

Just try not to blow a gasket if someone doesn't like your favourite Telly Tubby.

He aimed his comment towards the women, not Heavy D.

If he wanted to demonstrate the absurdity of Heavy D's behaviour he should have turned it around on him. Maybe if he was asked to wipe somebodies bum himself he would have had an idea as to why his requests were so demeaning.

He spoke to the women. His comments were aimed at/referenced Boom's behaviour.

Compare this clip at 40 secs. Sarah Millican talks to the audience and the gag is a reference about the school bike. She is not commenting that the audience have loose morals but sharing a gag with them by referencing someone who did.

I took that as a joke but other times I find him generally just sleazy/creepy.

Is the OP on the wind up?

This was clearly a joke, he said it with a smile on his face and it was taken as a joke. If Saira had taken it as a genuine request Biggins would have been mortified and apologised saying it was just a JOKE.

I will say this once more as this must be at least the 10th time I've had to point this out.

Just because it was a "joke" that doesn't mean it was appropriate. The "joke" was aimed towards victims of continuous sexual harassment and as such was distasteful.

Everyone knows you can have harmless jokes and malicious jokes, but most people seem to agree this was the former.

He was taking the p*ss out of Chloe having to wash manky undies which Saira started to do. He wasn't serious, it's a joke. Saira also played along saying she'd pretty do anything with rubber gloves on!

Why is there five pages of this? (not reading it all)
