So far in what I can see this show, Bear is compelling viewing.....

Whether you like him or not, he's the star of the show thus far.

Everyone else are bit parts. All the faves are relegated to the background.

This geezer, like him or not, is the main show so far

He's certainly driving the narrative.

I don't endorse his behaviour or support him as a housemate but he's interesting in as much as to what he is thinking and how he will behave.

Lewis seems to be the ring leader and needs to be dealt with first but sadly he'll cruise to the final.

even more reason for him to f off

I disagree. He's making me want to switch off.

I agree he's making brilliant TV. Definitely a strong candidate to win the whole thing.

I find him to be playing a role and the game as that's his Bread and butter, but there is something quite off and aggressive with him. He clearly has trust issues and it results in erratic selfish and quite defensive behaviour. But at the same time there is a vulnerability and some intrigue, that's what makes him complex and interesting. I don't like him at all but he's an interesting hm, he's a livewire and very unpredictable which makes good tv.

I also admire his non filtered natural reactions at times, its very rare these days. But he clearly is accentuating that east end gangster/bad boy role for post BB projects.....what else does he stand to gain?

Supporting or liking hms isn't always paramount, a show like BB needs entertaining and controversial hms at times and that's what makes it even if you dislike him because hms like bear bring out and expose the other hm that are holding back or playing the game.

I dislike Lewis much more, the callous calculating slimeball types are always much more ruthless and simply UN-stomachable.

Compelling only in the view of somebody watching something that is wrong with the world, and having the chance to vote it off of the world.......(and I know it is only a TV show and not the World.....but...)

I find him interesting. He can be annoying but nothing like Aubrey spitting in food/drink. Bear seems like a hot head and a pot stirrer but I don't get a really nasty vibe off him (just imo). He kind of defended Boom (said he was a good guy, fun guy) tonight when Lewis was trashing Boom.

Lewis can go sit and stare at the wall.

Using your logic surely Heavy D is the star of the show.

But that's exactly what BB is, a social experiment that shows us all walks of life and characters and seeing how they mellow, blend in or self destruct. It's great to see how others cope with such characters too whilst in there with them.

It's like bigotry, sexism, racism etc all of these aspects are sadly part of society, BB should really be about changing these folk by living along side said people, seeing how they tick, how they interact etc. I find it to quick draw to kick hms out immediately, as long as the hms don't feel uncomfortable I fin it socially interesting to see these people learn as they have to in confinement......if you know what I mean.

Of course not if it gets like dark or anything/aggressive.

He's a mug.

He's not too clever as we've all called him out.

The gits planned his steps before entering the house, as too with marnie and this showmance.

Gits>>>>>meant to type guy but sounded even better with the typo.

I know it's a TV show, but imagine him living next-door to you, would you regard him as compelling and entertaining as your neighbour.

I wouldn't want to live with or near the hms I've favoured all these years either.

It's BB no one cares about stomaching them for real.

I take your point and view it the same way really, but find it upsetting when the wrong types (In my view after watching) end up winners

He's definitely got his gameplan but he's gone in too hard, too fast, too soon.

To elevate himself to leader of the in crowd (and expelling Heavy D whom now has the sympathy of the others) he's alienated more people than he has on his side.

Oh no not as winners hun, I didn't mean having them rewarded for being dislikable, that's where I draw the line.

I don't want deadwood winning either.

I'll go for a medium, i.e. a likeable game player. Dexter types

Nope. Just a useless prick eating up airtime.

If sexual harassment makes compelling viewing I despair for the viewers.

Precisely, I think he will end up the bad guy of the series overall even over bear imo.

No one likes a cocky arseh#le. He thinks he's clever and we're gullible mugs.

His most sickening and obvious game is the 'I want a partner/I'm a gentleman I wanna buy my mum a house' malarkey.

i think that's part of the problem, if i wanted to i could place 15 convicts in to the house, rapists and murderers, sure it would be compelling viewing but what does that prove, all this love him or hate him he's making the show is strange to me. slightly worrying even more so is that some of the public support him.. next up nick griffin in the next series with threads showing up on here titled "he isn't really a racist he's telling it like it is".

That's an interesting point.

(I'm sure that would be a successful show, sadly)

The main point for me, is that BB are steering ''his storyline'' via editing. On the occasions that I've watched live feed, I've found it much more interesting than the high-lights show.

How many other more subtle stories are we missing by concentrating on him so much?

Indeed on live feed Bear sat down with Saira, Sam and Rikki and he came across alot more understanding than the HL shows would have us believe.. i know it's become a cliche over the years but it really does feel like selective editing is the issue. Also knowing ch5's relationship with Mtv it's not surprise to me that bb is turning in to geordie shore/the valleys type of show.

I am enjoying him from an entertainment standpoint - he's a bit like a cartoon villain - but he's still a horrible little slime. The feathers soften it though. And calling whatsherface Audrey over and over gave me a little schoolgirl giggle as well.

But just as the case with every series, it's being annoying that makes or breaks a HM and Bear does not annoy or irritate. Heavy D irritates me beyond words so there's nothing that would make me say keep him in. I just have to mute him - as I did with that Jackson twit from last run.

I'm finding that mob hag pretty high on the irritant scale as well.
