I dont know about you but i find it all so childish.
"Truth or dare."
The last time i played this i was about 12 years old.

It's so immature.

Why can't they have a decent conversation instead ?

I agree.

It happens every time ( and with the civilian lot ) I don't know about anybody else, but if I go to a party, and let's face it, this lot look like they're at one every night. I don't play truth or dare..

I'm sure this lot don't either.

Like you, last time I did I was likely in school.

It's just an excuse to get 'jiggy' with it.

A conversation?
Don't make me laugh.

They neither have the vocabulary nor the brain power for a conversation.

Totally agree.

Can remember the last time I played it. My best friend's boyfriend was asked the "truth" about who else in our group he fancied. Stupid idiot pointed to me. Then one of the girls "dared" me to kiss him and I refused. Caused no end of friction between my best friend and I and several other girls in our group. I had to spend the next few weeks denying that there was any reciprocated feeling between us, whilst secretly being very flattered that he had chosen me. All ended in a big falling out between everyone and people not speaking to other people and all taking sides etc. etc.

Very silly, immature game.

Oh, and I should mention, I was 13 at the time...

I know, what's wrong with a rollicking good game of 'oranges and lemons' to get the evening going, 'kick the can' once your warmed up and then 'kiss chase' (cheeks only rule) as you enter the rambunctious part of the night?

It just annoys me that we have your watch it when there are actual conversations going on elsewhere. The o!der lot talk, laugh and banter but we hardly see it. Frankie was talking about Biggins 'knowing everybody". I'd rather hear all the showzbiz stories than the stupid sex talk going on outside.

LOL I put that as i knew what the answer would be.

Do they go out in TOWIE or whatever and play truth or dare. ?

Sheesh kebab. Bunch of overgrown kids.
That's why the oldies in there tend not to take them seriously.

Spin the bottle is ok once or twice when everyone gets involved. Can be amusing.

It's banal and childish,Lewis uses it to send his idiot minions to annoy folk he doesn't like etc.Group of tools. That bunch couldn't hold a decent conversation, they don't have the skills etc.

BB even sometimes gives them questions to answer. Like who out of everyone do you dislike the least or least fancy. .
Boring.
I've noticed there hasn't been much proper bitching this series yet. .I mean like underhand.

Is it me, or does Lewis use to as a means to exert some sort dominance over others?

He always seems to be the ring leader in it. Take last night LF, Katie got picked to do a dare, towel whipping HeavyD. And whilst she was coming back Lewis was going on about fixing it so Katie had to do another. Fortunately it involved the pool, and BB said it was off limits.

A decent conversation is what they will have day in day out. They probably want to do to do something silly to entertain themselves and the viewers. Yes it's immature but it's BB not Question Time or whatever.

Bingo!! I said this earlier, the guy manages to get the others to go around doing all the 'naughty' things without ever having to do them himself.

Can remember the very early days of BB where the HMs would be set a topic of conversation like "My First Love" or "My Proudest Moment"

It was such a great opportunity not only for the HMs to get to know each other a little bit better, but for the viewers to get an insight into them and gave everyone a chance to get their voice heard. It led to deeper conversations and some real emotions coming out.

Much more interesting than a flippant "who froze their dog's sperm?" Followed by a very brief explanation and then back to shrieking and slurred drunk nonsensical rubbish.

So show us then...not this childish, banal, pathetic behaviour.

I seriously doubt Marnie, Lewis, Bear and Heavy COULD hold a decent conversation, to be honest.

It's designed so that the little boys get a snog or to see a pair of breasts. It also means they get to be really, really, horrid to people and then say, sorry but it was only a game.

Why to people think BB should be banal. Why shouldn't it be more like Question Time than Geordie Shore. I have watched BB from the first and for me the most interesting thing about it is listening to the conversations, life stories and seeing intelligent/moral/emotional/meaningful interactions. I find nothing entertaining about Bear talking about oral sex, Marnie talking about her vibrator and getting her breasts out AGAIN. I don't want to see HMs coping off on day 2 and having fauxmances. I don't want to see the likes of Bear, Boom, Lewis and Marnie humiliating and goading other HMs. I am sure if we heard and saw Biggins and Frankie's conversation it would have been much more interesting than truth or dare. Renee, Saira, Biggins, Ricky, James, Sam, Frankie and Aubrey are bright people with interesting connections, I would rather see them.

And 'decent.' The younger ones don't know the meaning of the word.

Totally agree.

Likewise, have watched BB from the beginning, and the whole point for me is to see the natural and developing interaction between the housemates. I want to learn more about them as people, know where they come from, what their life experiences are and what makes them tick.

Seeing immature loudmouths snogging each other, getting drunk and falling out of their clothes is the equivalent of watching paint dry as far as I'm concerned.

Absolutely spot on.

I would love to hear their life stories and such like, just like we did in Ch4's Big Brother which was so much better than Ch5's version..

If I wanted to watch Towie or Geordie Shore, I would. I dont like having it thrust upon me disguised as Big Brother.

I find it tedious and annoying.

Totally agree there are a lot of them getting on and enjoying interesting conversations.Lots of banter and animated people who are enjoying the experience.
I'm fed up with Bear looking about he's going to explode or implode.
The Marnie Lewis thing is done to death.
The childish games .Big D being so greedy and such bad manners.
Give the others a chance! Saira looked as though she was enjoying herself.Ricky seems interesting and I'd love to listen to an and even Frankie who seems to be quite interesting despite all the glitter.

Well children will behave like children I guess. Decent conversation? I doubt they have the vocabulary between them to string more than two words together. The lads in particular seem only interested in their next shag. Thank goodness not all youngsters behave in this way.

And why do vaguely interesting conversations make it more like QT than GS anyway?

When I first started posting on this forum 'The Waltons' was for some reason the go to comparison whenever anybody said they didn't enjoy all the bitching and nastiness. "What do you want? The Waltons?" - for some reason there is never an inbetween, its always an either-or.

The show is quite capable of being two things at once if it wants. There's no reason at all why they can't show exchanges that tell us more about the life and backstory of the people involved AND still show them drinking and snogging too. To be honest I expect the romantic hooks-up might even be a lot more accepted by the viewers if they'd given us some more insight into the characters outside of their alloted tropes first.

Story-telling 101 really - and that's what the editing of the show is supposed to be about.
