Ha, so Peter Mandelson would have been a ringah!

Interesting point about Yvette. I hope consideration of her career doesn't mean Ed feels he needs to hold back.

I predict that Ed will be the first male to get voted off.

That wouldn't necessarily make much difference. Remember how long the dreadful Ann Widdecombe lasted?

How many jokes can the scriptwriters make about Mr Balls?

Very few, if any, without causing some viewers and some on DS to have seizures. Just think back to some of Len's quips about walnuts etc.

He won't have long enough time to be considerate - only there to make up the numbers at the beginning

Rules for staying in Strictly :

1. You have to be liked by the voting public
2. You have to be such a bad dancer that voters will keep you in show using "entertainment" as a reason.

3. Good dancer? Not got that much to do with it!

I very much doubt he'll be one of the first casualties. We were saying that Jeremy Vine would be cannon fodder last year and look how that turned out...

He strikes as more of a Mark Benton - if he gets a Pro who can latch onto his potential.
If they "click" like Mark and Iveta, then they will produce some memorable routines.

I always thought Mark was grossly under rated on this forum. His shape and size were wrong for a dancer and that gave a deceptive impression that some interpreted as ineptitude. He also had some physical constraints (knees) but his timing was excellent, he was rythmical, he didn't dance like a plank of wood despite the knee braces and his characterisation and interpretation were great. He was one of my favourite contestants and his relationship with Iveta was smashing.

I agree - Mark was a talented dancer. If he had been lighter, fitter, and without injuries, it would have been more obvious.
I don't think Ed will be in the same league, but he may be one of the fitter MP's and one who is willing to go for it performance-wise.

Mark's 'Salsa' based 'showdance'.
