Where have you gotten the word "assault" from? All I have read is that they have an argument and Bear throws a mug at a wall. Absolutely nothing about Bear assaulting him. He was drunk apparently and then Renee had a go at him so he went in to the garden and threw a mug. Ive seen housemates do a lot worse.
Admittedly the first report of this made it sound worse than that. Fair enough, he still has anger issues though.

He totally exposed the patheticness of all of The Others set-up and tasks, at which point production thought 'shit, he's going to put us all out of jobs for gross incompetence when he sees what we've got planned for the rest of the series' so they promptly pulled him. No comment etc
