~ A Quick & Dirty Score Sheet ~
Jana & Gleb - 8.5 (look, I'm sorry, but I'm team Bruno) Laurie & Val - 8.5 (most likely our winner) James & Sharna - 8 (with polish he could actually steal the title from Laurie, they have great chemistry) Marilu & Derek - 7 (STOP OBSCURING PEOPLE'S FEET WITH THE AUDIENCE) Maureen & Artem - 6.5 (U N D E R S C O R E D) Amber & Maks - 6.5 (kinda hope she improves, I'm going against the grain a bit but I actually really love her and Maks together, I think they both have that "sharp exterior, gooey centre" vibe, and it'd be good for her to show a less unabashedly brassy side to her personality) Rick & Emma - 5 (bless) Everyone else faded into nothingness for me, but they have another dance next week to change that. So far the only stand-out wrong'un is Jake, who just seems insincere and a bit brittle, but again I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for now. Hope he keeps it together..

Jana was actually a nice surprise, I hope her and Gleb go far!
Currently I can see Laurie, Marilu and James in the finale. |

I can see Marilu& Laurie being the last 2 standing, almost impossible to call the winner if that's the case but being a Derek fan want him to get mirrorball 7 by xmas

Laurie and Val's dance was easily one of my favourites for years. A real Cha-Cha-Cha routine. My biggest DWTS bugbears are the fact the dances are sometimes less then a minute and when they have the dancers surrounded by the screaming tweenie boppers so that you can't actually see anything they're doing.
I can't pass judgement on Marilu and Derek's dance because I barely saw any of it. |

I think they have shortened the dances because they don't have a lot of practice time especially in the beginning. I remember they used to have a month for that first dance and now it is barely 2 weeks.

MARILU/DEREK - Great for a 64 year old. A bit stiff in the upper half and we didn’t see
her legs very much. It was well performed and her technique is good. Score- 5. JAMES/SHARNA - Would really loved to have seen him with Emma, but I am very happy for Sharna to have a charming partner who’s there to have fun. Dance wise, excellent posture, very smooth, great footwork, and a lovely performance. Some minor errors, but great overall. I think he could actually win. Score- 7. CALVIN/LINDSAY - Nice to see a more likeable footballer this season. Height’s a big challenge here and that’s what caused his problems in his upper half. His lower half is excellent and he brings excellent energy. Score- 6. MAUREEN/ARTEM - Honey, stop the crying please. I don’t think she’ll last long at all. Nerves got to her completely and the footwork was wrong at times. A bit of work to do, but she wasn’t awful. Score- 4. BABYFACE/ALLISON - Babyface is actually really good, but Allison hasn’t improved at all. STOP OUTDANCING YOUR PARTNER!!!! The basic foxtrot is lovely and it was a good performance, but too frantic. Score- 5. AMBER/MAKS - Too much fooling around before and during the dance. I saw some stumbling and some of her lines were incomplete. It didn’t seem to flow and she didn’t seem very comfortable. Score- 4. VANILLA ICE/WITNEY - This was an excellent performance and there actually was some Cha Cha, so I don’t agree with the 5 from Len. The cha cha itself was OK, not great technique but not much to judge. It was a great number overall and he had the time of his life. Score- 6. JANA/GLEB - I like Gleb’s ‘out of the box’ choreography, and while it wasn’t a traditional VW, there was plenty of content there, just in a different way. Excellent lines and posture and the VW itself was well performed and executed. Score- 7. JAKE/JENNA - No, not good at all. So far, not impressed with Jenna as a pro. The choreo was too difficult for a non dancer and he struggled to keep up. The kicks and flicks weren’t great and he looked a bit lost the whole time. I’ll be honest, I think he’s going home this week. Score- 3. RICK/EMMA - Shame Emma’s landed another dud, but she’s the best partner for Rick, and he is actually lovely and could last a while. The dance itself, well. I won’t bother commenting on technique, the legs were a disaster, and so was the posture and everything. But, it was so fun to watch. Score- 2. TERRA/SASHA - It’s really nice to see a little person on the show, and considering this and also having had a baby a month ago. Her Jive was never going to be great, but Sasha choreographed brilliantly around her limitations by focusing more on the performance and it worked! I thought she did her best. Score- 5. RYAN/CHERYL - Great to see Cheryl back. I’m not talking about the attack and will focus on the dance. I think he’s definitely not a natural, seemed a bit stiff at times and some of the movements and lines needed more finesse. The posture wasn’t too good but Cheryl did a nice job teaching him. Score- 4. LAURIE/VAL - Not happy Val has ANOTHER ringer. I would say it is a 3/4 chance of them winning, but they do have competition. She is a great dancer. Very good movement and can handle difficult choreo. She has a lot on her plate with DWTS, the tour and even school, and I wonder if that could slow her down. Score- 8. |

The TV themes for next week sound ghastly.
I was hoping one couple would do a contemporary to the music from The Affair. There must be some better theme tunes out there than the ones chosen surely. It's saying something when you're looking forward to The Muppet theme. Having no proper knowledge of any of the slebs and relying solely on the vts on YouTube my first impressions of show 1 were: Marilu's jive overmarked: no kicks and flicks, crowd divert/distract, should have done a waltz instead. Some wag wrote ''Booty and the Beast'' for Amber and Maks. The hip hoppy can't get my breath move was funny. Has she had implants in her bum? Why the silhouetted blow job? Artem's never felt protective before? Poor Kara. Gleb's VW undermarked but why push the sexy angle: he's married with a kid and has already cheated on his wife once ffs. Poor Emma. She did a fairly decent dance round him in a non sleazy way though. Sasha and her will be out fairly soon if he has to avoid ballroom. SHANA FOR THE WIN THIS YEAR: |

I was thinking that but wanted to be sure. The official team name is Stop and Go. In an interview they gave are a little concerned for the paso because of only having a day and a half to rehearse and he won't be back to LA until Monday. So that is cutting it very close, more like team Touch and Go. And we have not seen Latin from him yet. After that he has cleared his schedule for the rest of the season and if he performs well in Latin I could definitely see Stop & Go in the finals. I hope so

Last week Ryan danced to Call Me Irresponsible, this week he's dancing to the Muppets Theme. They may as well have him dance to a song called I Was A **** in week three.

Thanks Elsa. My butt looks similar, I am astounded anyone would inject fat deliberately when you can just eat cake. It reminds me of Kenny Everett's inflating arse when he was doing a Rod Stewart piss take.
Yes I did mean SHARNA and James of course. Sharna has never won. I like her well enough. Dancing Queen, excellent work there. I was a **** facepalming jive. Followed by a rumba in week four to Should have known better and movie week the following week: Despicable Me. Fleetwood Mac's Little Lies in week 6 and like that, he was gone. |

Muppet doesn't have negative connotations in the USA - it's just one of Jim Henson's puppet characters. From Wikipedia:
"Outside of its regional usage—in the United States for example—calling an individual a "muppet" can cause some cultural confusion, even causing a U.S. soccer fan to misinterpret it as a compliment" |

According to George Pennacchio this is the running order tonight.
Line-up: Maureen, Jana, Rick, Calvin, Amber, Jake, Vanilla Ice, Terra, Babyface, Laurie, James, Marilu & then Ryan. With Ryan at the end could he have a comeback with his QS? |

Why are the routines so short? Ryan's Quickstep lasted about 48 seconds.
