It's worse during the celebrity series because I think they try to capture the popularity of the other reality shows and get a group of people from Made In Essex Beach Shore type shows. Whereas BB is a different animal to those scripted shows, it relies on raw personality not on what storyline the writers want to come up with this week.
If you give Lewis a script writer and a storyline for a few episodes I guess I can be made to look vaguely interesting.

They're just floundering for a personality. He has his arm round "a bird" now so he's sorted, he'll think. Just look at Chloe who's response to 'are you in a relationship?' is to invent a sound, announcing: "I have a suh-ehe, suh-ehe..."
It's why people who are famous only through reality/talent shows in the first place often make terrible housemates.
