Exactly. There are many that are living hard working productive lives that do not have a degree and many with a degree that have gone on to lead what many would consider wasted lives. Hopefully most will know that they are not judged on academic success alone, but for the most part on qualities not so easily measurable.

I'm quite sure you don't need a piece of paper to define who you are, and I'm equally sure that there are people in your life that bask in the reflected glory of just 'you' regardless of that piece of paper
