Now he's been bad for a while but tonight topped the lot I wanted to put my hand through the telly and slap him with that ruddy tea towel

I don't think that even those of us who despise him could quite believe that he could be as bad as what we witnessed to night. It really was a disgrace, and something not even his most loyal followers could possibly defend.

Antony Cotton seriously is the worst-stinking diarrheal effluent of acting TV has seen., Honestly what power does he have over the producers of Corrie to keep him on prime time TV?

After all these years he has had to train and improve, and when given a big storyline about betrayal, plenty of big lines and emotional expressions, something any actor would die to get his teeth into for a prime time show....and goes and gives the usual 1-Directional, limp wristed, hissy fitting "method" of acting that had all the complexity of finding out he had chewing gum in his tiara.

Such a hateful vile waste of space, was he meant to be eliciting sympathy tonight or people clapping that he got what he deserved? definitely the latter for me

Breathe....

Can't comment as I haven't watched it yet but I doubt it can be that bad.

Maybe you could all just keep posting your concerns to this thread instead of starting a new one everyday and then maybe in time you could all publish your memoirs, sure it would be a best seller

I'd like to see anyone try to defend that ''performance''

It's obvious you don't care about the poor customers. Everytime Sean reads this type of critical acclaim I bet that Hotpot tastes like horseshit the next day. He hasn't changed a barrel down in the cellar in a long time. Pretty soon eveyone's face will be like Izzies when they take a mouthful of their pint. Have a heart.

Why do people keep saying we should make a non appreciation thread when we've already had one but was closed down after 9 posts? No doubt his irate fans couldn't handle the comments and reported it. so they've only got themselves to blame if people continue to make new threads when the older AC topics get lost amongst the active one's.

I have watched it. I haven't watched Corrie in years so it was interesting to see if the performance was as bad as I remember. It was just the same, the only difference he is older. How can a grown man still live there and still act like a child? No body wants to be in a relationship with some one like that. It was like watching him from when he first started; no development at all.

People can start as many threads as they like. It is a choice whether any of us go into them. Sean is so irritating to many that they need catharsis or explode. I found the comments very funny and accurate.

from the rules:

Duplicate threads and cross-posting
Before creating a new thread please carry out a brief search to see if your contribution could be made to an existing thread. Do not purposely duplicate threads or cross-post to multiple forums.

same as bumping old dead threads is frowned upon so is starting duplicate threads.

like I say no need for a new one every day

If you re-read the rules that you agreed to when you joined DS you'll see that dupicate threads on one subject aren't allowed. By that it means before starting a thread on a subject FMs should check to see if someone has already started a thread on the same subject and if so they should contribute to it and not start a new one. It goes without saying that there is already a thread on the subject of Sean Tully/Anthony Cotton. I know of a few people on here who've had short bans for disobeying this rule.

Ok then....we'll just post our comments in an existing thread. Problem solved.

Were you responsible for some or all of them?

We have to face facts he will never be axed.

He is well in with the hierarchy at Corrie - he knows he is crap but the big pay packet, celebrity lifestyle etc is obviously more important to him than the craft of Acting it seems.

No, I wasn't responsible for any of them. I haven't watched Corrie for years and I don't remember much about him. I stopped watching it because Maria got on my nerves so much. It's just annoying when there are loads of threads on the same subject - any subject, not just this one

I'm on catch up now...

Fiasco springs to mind.

The only saving grace is the wonderful Phelan being horrid to him!

Nail on head Soap-Lea!!

I have never complained against people criticising Sean or Antony Cotton's acting!!
I do hate people attacking his or any other actor's personal character but that's a different story!!

But do we REALLY need ANOTHER thread on it????? That must be six this week now at least!!

Sean was appallingly bad tonight. In some scenes he was meant to be really upset and in others he was camp and playing it for humour.

The acting, the writing and the direction were all dire.

If FMs start regular threads about Sean what's it got to do with other posters? Some of these people keep the very threads they object to going by their constant complaining. If anyone doesn't like a particular thread; then keep away.

Sean was dreadful tonight and there's no reason why FMs shouldn't discuss it.

I think the solution is that we get our thread to go to vent about Sean (just like The Fiz one Mo started) and the Sean defenders leave it be. The defenders can make a Sean appreciation thread if they wish and we keep to our own venting thread. That way we can all air our opinions without the unnecessary arguments that drag the forum down.

And good grief I thought tonight's Corrie would never end. So much whining and self pitying from a 40-something year old man having a tantrum. He also has no right whatsoever to claim ownership of Eileen's house when he is just a lodger and Todd is Eileen's son and hasn't done anything wrong.

Sean is so annoying in serious-ish storylines (not so much background) - sometimes I'd love to lock him in a dungeon/cellar/Cungeon and throw away the key
