I mean, if he has said something so deeply offensive, wouldn't it be more appropriate to offer an immediate statement and apology ?

Isn't there something a bit seedy about using this 'offensiveness' to raise viewer ratings ?

That's true. Channel 5 BB thrives on seedy and offensive. I'm personally offended by the seedy HM's they keep thrusting on us.

That is channel 5 BB for you, ratings are the only thing that matters and they will go to many lengths to get those ratings. This is why they push so much drama on us in every single show. Just look at the recaps at the start of each episode, they are edited to look far more dramatic than it really is.

They aren't telling us what Biggins said because they want people to watch it. If they told us then they would be afraid that people would no longer be as interested and maybe not watch it. It's all about the ratings, they are obsessed with them. This is why they chuck a HM out in every series now. They don't care about consistency, they bide their time and chuck a HM out when they are desperate for a ratings boost.

it's pretty obvious that Winston guy and Tila Tequila were put in purely so they could be kicked out at the beginning in order to generate headlines.

I think Biggins was supposed to be one of this year's 'chosen ones' so CH5 have screwed up in that respect. They probably didn't realise just how vile the man actually is

C5 are the lowest form of gutter trash TV i hate what they have done to BB. The worst of it is there will be much back slapping and hand rubbing with glee at what drama they have created.
They sicken me.

I agree wholeheartedly with everything that you've said.

I think ratings/publicity may have something to do with it, but I think the main reason will be that lawyers will be discussing what will ultimately be shown and they weren't ready to get into it on Friday night's programmes.

Agree. I immediately thought that dragging it out for 24 hours and waiting for the Saturday show is because I guess the Saturday viewing figures drop because it mostly shows eviction related stuff from the night before which has already aired. All about trying for a ratings boost, especially if they get media coverage today. But I'm sure the lawyers need time to decide what to show and to liaise with biggins management who will want damage limitation for their "talent"

String it out for as long as they can. Leak transcripts, let Twitter speculate. Then give out a severe warning before the show but not show anything until after the third ad break. They will show nothing of the conversation. They will show Biggins in the diary room getting a stern talking to, then he will leave by the door on his left.

If the transcript bears any relation to the truth, they need the time to decide how to manage it. They could not show the incident, it would cause uproar. I imagine they will show Katie upset and HMs referring to it. If Biggins lawyers are probably involved, they are playing for time. Andrew just disappeared - much the same as Biggins.

They had a live eviction show to deal with last night, probably just wanted to get that out of the way before dealing with the Biggins incident

crumbs... publicity for the show and then ratings...

this is a commercial channel, and you don't give away the main attraction...

Probably a combination of trying to boos ratings, and legal trouble. If what he said is that bad then they have to tread carefully.

We can confirm that a transcript claiming to relate to Christopher Biggins' removal from the #CBB house is 100% fake

But they could easily have edited or just not shown any conversation that took place. The only people who would have been offended by any comments made are those who were taking part in or within earshot of the conversation. C5/BB didn't have to remove Biggins because the public may have been offended, if the public weren't shown the footage.

If some/all of the other housemates were outraged by whatever it is that Biggins has said or done, and complained loudly, then I guess CC5/BB would have to act. But not necessarily. It is not likely that the HMs would walk out en masse if Biggins hadn't been removed, so it could have been swept under the carpet until one of the evicted HMs spoke of it once they were out.

And as the footage shown last night showed some of the HMs saying they hoped Biggins was in another house or another room, they obviously hadn't ostracised him for whatever was said/done.

But hey ho - it's bound to get a few extra viewers for tonight's show, just to assuage some viewers' curiosity, so it's done what it was meant to do.

I still believe this,
Biggins, concentration joke (some joke ) + Katie, floods of tears = Removal
(and rightly so)

She was also in floods of tears over the Amy Winehouse comment from Chloe.

Katie + anything that she can get some sympathy from = floods of tears

She is a cry baby. I saw on live feed her looking despondent (about something else) and Ricky was trying to cheer her up. She was milking it. Maybe she'll get the sympathy vote.

Not from me!

I remember her being a drama queen when she was on X-factor.

She does more milking than a dairy farmer. To me she seems completely fake and totally lacking in personality, I have heard Lewis say more interesting things*.

* OK, not really, but you get the point.
