Sarah and Gary did have a hint of chemistry yesterday in their scenes (in my opinion) and as a big fan of Sarah it would be nice to see her have a nice boyfriend for a change especially after the awful Callum romance last year and Aiden Critchley in the past.

Sarah also has terrible history with the name Gary as well after what happened to her in 2001 so maybe if they do start dating in the future maybe it will be referenced as they don't talk much about her past (since she returned last year) apart from her teenage pregnancy with Bethany, her relationships with both Todd and Jason and her and Todd's son Billy who died.

One problem however if Sarah and Gary do start dating:

I don't have a type but I do like a nice arse. Come to think of it my OH has a nice one though his hair is now completely grey (he calls it silver and blames me for the change ) but he used to be ginger of sorts when we met 20+ years ago

Perhaps it will be Gary who recognises Bethany's problems and helps her, which brings him closer to Sarah, leading to them getting together. At which point Bethany is no longer a hot mess and had moved on from her crush on Gary and they can all live as one big happy family?!

I do think they may be good together.

I think it will lead to Sarah and Bethany both getting closer to Gary in different scenarios, and the consequences of that on the mother/daughter relationship, and Gary as he has to pick between the two. Quite an interesting storyline, and an Oates creation.

Or it could lead to nothing.

I think the paring could work, Gary has had some really poor love interests in Alya and Izzy. It'd be good to see him paired with Sarah. I also wonder if they will revisit the David/Gary feud once they get together.

Possibly becsuse those seemingly random soap scenes rarely happen without some reason!!

Well people have hardly been incorrect before. I remember when Karl shared a brief scene with Sunita, posters on here had theories they would have an affair and would you know it they did!

I don't know, David and Gary seem to be on better terms. I remember a few years back (shortly after Gary was on leave from the army, but suffering PTSD) he and David went out into town together. Even before that Gary was behaving more maturely and gave David his regards when Gail was locked up for murder.

But you never know, David might not want them together due to the history of the Platts and Windass family. And I doubt they would do a storyline involving Gary and Sarah without some sort of conflict.

True. It may lead to absolutely nothing but I started the thread because it just seemed a bit random, and random usually leads to something!

I can honestly say that I wouldn't have dreamed up Sarah and Gary before I saw them together but once I had, I kinda liked the idea!

I did wonder if they were going to be a new pairing as they seemed to have chemistry and must be about the same age.

Yup and David might be afraid Sarah will tell Gary the truth about Callum.

They seem to be going in that direction with them getting together.

Good to know the bullying storyline is now being used as a plot device for yet another random pair up, which will be nothing special and the writers will forget about it in a few months time.

I think this would be a great pairing! Gary is a good but underused character lately, so putting him in with the Platts would be full of material for him. And anything is better than Gary and Alya, that was so tedious to watch.
