That's exaggerating it.

From watching him on various shows/progs over the years. There's an underlying unpleasantness about him that's very at odds imo with the Biggins that the media likes to promote and fawn over. Not least, deeply ironically, Ch.5's BB.

Don't you wonder what it is he's done that's caused them to turn on him like this?
