Sales of Dual sim phones in the UK

I have been into the Samsung phone shop and Carphone Warehouse, and have been told they don't sell dual sim phones.

According to GSM Arena, the Samsung galaxy J3 and J5 are both dual sim phones, however Carphone Warehouse and Samsung shop say they don't sell these handsets with a dual sim card slot.

Any idea why this could be, and where would be the best place to buy a dual sim phone?

What sort of phone do you want?

On the lower end, the Moto G4 is available in a dual SIM version from / sold by Amazon (last time I checked, you have to buy the white one to get dual SIM, the black one isn't).

On the higher end, the Oneplus 3 is dual SIM.

Dual SIM is pretty rare in the UK to begin with. It's more popular in countries where the networks don't have pretty similar, universal coverage, or countries where there may be an advantage to being on more than one network (like cheaper same network calls)

I currently have a single sim samsung galaxy s3 mini, and was looking at the Samsung Galaxy J3 or j5.

I want the freedom to have two sim cards in my phone. Do you think if I was to purchase from amazon, would it have dual sim?

If you mean the Moto G4, yes, the dual SIM version is clearly marked - http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01GZZKDHI

I wouldn't know about the Samsung phones.

I'd guess that the main reason that Dual Sim phones are not popular here is because most phones are sold attached to Networks, and Networks don't like you to share the phone they've subsidised with another network.

Recently bought a Dual Sim cheapy from Argos, a Windows 10 Bush Eluma B2 for £49! Quite a lot of phone for £49, but my God, Windows phone is awful!

What simcards are you considering using?

Does anyone know if the SIM2 slot on the Huawei P9 / P9Lite is restricted on firmware from operators?
AFAIK there isn't a hardware version with 1 SIM slot as there is for some other dual SIM phones, but I guess that doesn't stop them disabling its functionality.

I suspect on both models, one sim is 2G only.

All OnePlus phones are dual sims (apart from the OnePlus One).

Samsung make dual sim versions of the S6 and S7 as well as the Note range. Generally identified as 'Duos' in their name.

Googling / ebay / amazon searching on Samsung dual sim or samsung duos brings up plenty of results.

Be mindful that, for example the S6 has TWO dual sim versions, one is compatible with all UK network bands (current) and one isnt compatible with them all
