My question being 'Is bear actually this obnoxious in real life?'

The answer. No hes not. In fact Steve is a lot more Bearable ('scuse the pun)

For sure, he has an ego bigger than my other halfs y-fronts, but then so do most young 'pretty boys' (using the term pretty very loosely)

I am convinced this arrogant thug 'act' is simply that. A character.
Sadly he has chosen to be remembered as a tosser, a panto villain, Instead of a likeable person, which Stevie boy actually is.

I am glad I looked into the true personality of Steve. I no longer feel the need to slam my foot through the TV when I see his face. (which is a feat in itself seeing as my TV is high up on the wall)

Of course I won't vote to save him, but I've given him slack, which has helped me stay tuned in to this dire CBB series... rather than walk away and watch something interesting - like paint dry.

I seen an article today that said he has been treated pretty unfairly by his parents and has always been acting up to get there attention. He has a brother (a millionaire) who he is always competing with. None of us will know what he is really like but I do think there is a much nicer side to him that he is frightened to show people.

Maybe you've become desencitised to him. He's softly spoken as well so he seems quite childlike and vulnerable.

The fun of life is working out, if someone is genuine nice or just bullshitter nice. Well I use the term 'fun' loosely there.

With Bear who really knows. What Bear is like away from the cameras. We certainly don't know.

Is it just me who thinks this or is Bear very similar to Marc Oneill from BB16? Most housemates hate him, he is good at winding them up like Marc aswell. Bears relationship with Heavy is also similar to Marc and Dannys. Danny repeatedly invaded Marcs personal space but then also had a laugh with him. Marc did eventually show a more vulnerable side to him though, I think Bear will too.

Some similarities. But i'd put Bear at 10% worse than Marc, at pushing barriers and over stepping the mark. Marc had a few more brain cells too.

Thats another reason I like Bear though, his lack of filter and maybe a lack of brain cells means that anything he says is honest. Unlike some who IMO just say things for effect, I think intellectually Bear is pretty stupid but he is very aware and he knows what he is doing.

I've only ever hated 3 people on BB HW, Marc and now Boar.

The reason Boar tops the other two is there's no intelligence behind the nasty behaviour. He just an arrogant, vile little man who deliberately antagonises people to make them angry, upset and frustrated.

I also dislike how this behaviour is rewarded and celebrated by "reality" shows and now BB too.

Yep, he's just a ugly, hateful stream of consciousness who just spews whatever vile shit is going through his mind at the time. Great.

I detested him on Shipwrecked, and he is playing the same "character" in the house. I hope he is a lovely bloke away from the cameras because the one on them is a right nob.

Of course he does. But also yep, you do know where you stand with him. Which is a good character trait. You know when someone deserves a smack that way. Because as you say there honesty is just that, it is what they think.

I get what youre saying but I really dont mind him. It takes alot for people to anger me, I think Aubrey is the only one I actually detest.

Oh yeah, I agree, he's upsetting people deliberately. He's also unwilling to listen to reason. Even when Ricky is playing the diplomat and trying to explain things to help you can tell Boar only hears what he wants to hear.

Being willfully nasty isn't a sign of intelligence in my eyes.

If Bear wanted to be memorable, he has succeeded. At any one time, at least a third of the threads on here are about Bear.

People hate him, are entertained by him, are irritated by him, are shocked by him...but everyone has a strong opinion about him and I'm sure his agent is delighted with the way it's going.

How do you know? unless you know him in real life of course.

You're more tolerant about this kind of thing than I am obviously. I do always try to see the best in people but Boar has given me nothing to go on and dominates the show with crap when I feel like the other HMs have a lot more to offer.

I bet his agent his rubbing his hands and making deals for when Bear comes out.

Another House Nuisance - Perez, I really enjoyed him winding them up as the other HMs packed against him. But couldn't stand Marc O'Neill. I've come to the conclusion that
a) I'm an intelligence snob
b I don't like shouty idiot men parading their bodies with an underlying threat of violence

It's something they always say on BOTS, if someone is talked about a lot it means they're a good housemate. I disagree with that.

CBB is always going to wind you up, then. But some people watch TV so they can get outraged and have a good old scream online. It's all part of the fun of it.

Bear will make a very decent amount in September appearing in clubs in Ibiza and Mallorca. The Love Island lot have worked just about every night since the programme ended. Bear might also end up on Towie but nobody expects him to get his own show.
