Whether we agree or mostly disagree with his views on bisexuality and the origin of aids and how it spread, Chris Biggins had every right to say those words in a conversation without it being used to boot him out of the house.

This was a blatant excuse to remove him for whatever reason only the producers know.

I have to admit I didn't think he'd have been chucked out for that. I noted that when he was discussing it no-one in the house queried it or appeared offended. Weird.

They've used that conversation to extricate him probably because they failed to act accordingly beforehand.

There's obviously been a massive cover-up.

Precisely. Frankie was on the floor nearby and did not appear to interject.

It is a very lame reason to ask him to leave. You could tell how gobsmacked he was in the diary room. What he expressed was his own view on a subject, which as a gay man he felt strongly about. We should respect that, not treat it as intolerable.

People have so many different views, good and bad, tasteful and distasteful - but not in the Peoples Republic Of Borehamwood which is a kind of North Korea in Hertfordshire by the seem of it.

Still, at least they tolerate violence and smashing windows, spitting and constant expletives and sexual proclivity.

I'm sure Biggins would have happily sat there and debated the issue if challenged and if given facts that proved him wrong accepted them and moved on, this is a very weird situation.

he was a Botts regular, I wonder if that will stop now

There is definitely something going on that BB is hiding from us.

Biggins doesnt like Bisexuals, he makes that clear. If i said the same things about gays on here as he said about bisexuals in the house then i would be banned from digital spy

Everyone has conversations with friends and family in groups and hears things from people we don't like or find offensive. That's life! Are we now to believe that it is no longer acceptable to offend another person at all? Yet every ad break we get the overblown warnings about expecting to hear offensive or very offensive language or content. But when we do hear it, having been warned, as deemed by the producers they kick somebody off.

Yet they are currently tolerating a violent, foul mouthed bullying character in that house. I find that very offensive.

Well said Rich.
Biggin's expresses his opinions and is removed. The imbecile Bear smashes a mirror in a rage, Aubrey spits in Bear's bread and coffee and both of them get warnings! Total inconsistency.

They also mentioned he was warned about some comments other than the AIDS and Bisexuals are the worst type but did not mention or show these.

If they were happy to show the two above, I find it strange they didnt show the other comment(s) he made. How bad or not those other comment(s) were we will apparently never know.

Hi there Highlander Ian, you soon found the thread. I rarely start one on this forum but seeing that Biggins excuse in the diary room has really annoyed me when we are being shown such uncouth characters and a rather low rent piece of work in that Bear moron. Where do they fish these kind of people up from in the first place? At least I can turn over to the Olympics now and see the majority decent youngsters performing something worthy.

Yeah, it's one of the other few places I visit on DS. Don't often post here. There's always plenty to read though.
Enjoy the Olympics.

Ridiculous. Throwing him out for debating something relevant. Debating doesn't mean everyone agreeing. It does mean that different opinions need to be heard.

Conversations about shagging are celebrated. Sexual behaviour likewise. Debating how aids was spread? Shut it down. Absolutely pathetic.

Everyone goes on like these poor celebs cannot say what they want, the poor victims...., they all read the rules, their agents read the rules and they know how TV works today........you cannot play dumb after you signed a decent contract.
Its a TV "entertainment" show where no one wants to hear what "stories" or versions of history you talk about with youre mates privately high as hell.
Some of those "celebs" have been in the game for years!!!

AIDS was created by evil governments to exterminate developing communities = approved speech
AIDS was, initially, transmitted in the United States by bisexuals = hate speech

I don't see how one is so much worse than the other. But |'m not a BB producer, so what do I know

There's more to it than what was shown. What he said to Katie must have been so offensive considering the other stuff they do show now. They had plenty of time to discuss with his legal representatives what they would show.

Remember the age we live in - where no one is allowed an opinion!
Well at least no one who isn't on the left ... if your opinion does not meet with their agreement you are wrong, no conversation, just condemnation and immediate labelling be it racist, homophobic, sexist etc

He also referred to bi-sexuals as being the people to bring AIDS over to america. Not sure if he meant bi-sexuals as a group of both heterosexual and homosexual people. Either way it was in very bad taste.

Let's also remember here that the producers of Big Brother are equally as culpable as Chris Biggins in view of what he said for the simple reason that they have quite willingly decided to show the "offensive" material he said, and then repeat it again in the diary room at him. They have chosen to offend. Biggins didn't.

I'll take no moral high ground from the makers of this programme thanks very much.
