Exactly, the aids thing is a smokescreen.

Beginning to see why Brexit won. No he is not entitled to sit there and espouse such opinions about the origins of AIDS and bisexuality as if they were fact. He was repeating vile stereotypical rubbish that feeds into biphobia and inter LGBTQ community discrimination.

When did Christopher Biggins become the producer of Big Brother? He doesn't have a right to anything.

I have to agree. It seems he is being punished for comments made previously rather than the comments he made which we were shown.

Well at least no one who isn't on the left ... if your opinion does not meet with their agreement you are wrong, no conversation, just condemnation and immediate labelling be it racist, homophobic, sexist etc”

He was given 3 chances and he didn't bother to reigning it in. I've no sympathy for the hateful little man.

You can take about freedom of speech and all that but I take it he's aware that people have previously been thrown out for comments they've made.

To me he tried to cut off Renee several times when she mentioned she was told by someone from the CIA that it was man made to kill off people from the third world. He did mention Africa when he said that people went over to Africa to have sex with those people and that is why it seemed to take hold in America.

Errrrrrr the producers tried to cover it all up!

As for some of Biggins comments.........
Quote:
Biggins said: “I think Channel 5 were trying to protect me by not screening it.

“I think it’s unfortunate that someone has decided to leak the story. Then they had to do something.

Quote:
“But in fact there was a casting director, a producer and somebody I didn’t know.

“They said: ‘We’re so sorry, this is terrible, we believe in you.’

They had never mentioned he'd had numerous warnings in the past, why not?

The producers only kicked him out because he had been exposed to the public for the bigoted/racist git he really is!

He's no martyr!

These days BB just loves the controversy and publicity that follows a removal, especially on CBB. I'm sure they'd happily chuck out a couple more this week.

The so called 'joke' happened last Monday apparently and it wasn't shown on Tuesday's show. Methinks they were just looking for another reason to boot him out, and the Aids conversation gave them their chance.

Yes, an explanation (of the truth) would have sufficed if they deemed the footage too traumatic for our senses, but to project what we saw tonight as the real reason was akin to treating the viewers as idiots.

Nothing new for C5 though.”

I don't think they were looking for a reason to boot him out.
He admitted he had been warned by BB on several occasions. He continued to make the same type of comment he'd been warned about.
BB clearly stated he had been warned before, it wasn't a single comment that got him booted, but a culmination of refusing to heed warnings.

It's a shame there was no one in there equipped to debate him.
I would rather see his comments challenged and shown up for what they are.

I would also like people to educate themselves about free speech law in this country.

Biggins's comments regarding the extent to which bisexuals are responsible for the spread of AIDS clearly go beyond what is epidemiologically valid. However, it is a recognised factor. See, for example: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1694299/

Well there was James Whale who Biggins was close to. It's rather a shame he didn't debate these topics with him instead. James has always been good on these subjects on radio.

When did we become such a sensitive, delicate, mamby pamby race of people? I couldn't care less what other people think. I am Jewish and have been hearing these off the cuff remarrks all my long life and it just goes over my head. If I wanted to could always find something to retaliate but why? I am far more offended by Bear talking abou
t women's bodies in such a derogatory way he is vile. I am massively more offended that Biggins has been thrown out, it should have been Bear........days ago.

- Here here, totally agree. Biggins beliefs were so dated and ill informed, and I would have welcomed an educated, challenging viewpoint. He is not in the minority in his beliefs because I have heard them countless times over the years, but now we will never know if he might have become more enlightened over the course of this show.

So was the "leaked" story, the "hoax" transcript, l don't recall seeing any leaked story other than the "transcript". Maybe the transcript was closer to the truth than has been revealed.

Biggins was paid to be there and signed a contract, in exchange for that he follows their rules and got warnings when he didn't. Words can have consequences. I mean it's free speech for you to throw insults and expletives at your boss, but you might be out of job afterwards right? If you start being offensive in a pub you might be barred. I didn't personally want them to throw him out but the show can do what they want.

We don't know if there was a debate that wasn't shown because when Biggins expressed his views regarding the spread of Aids James was there & did ask him 'Do you really believe that?'. Biggins replied 'Yes' but no more appeared to be shown.

We should all be allowed to say what we like ,however odious. HIV is not a man-made virus, it's characteristics and evolution are natural. Yes, gay men are far more likely to be infected by HIV in the developing world, but it is mainly heterosexual in the African continent. I don't see where bisexuals come into it really, it is a sexually transmitted disease with no ability to select a target. As for Renee's CIA stories, someone always has a story about a shadowy figure, always entirely unevidenced. of course. All, this proves is how uneducated housemates and huge sways of the public are.

Finally, in amongst all the bluster, someone else who can see it for what it is and not try to lay blame on any one group of people.

Renee probably thinks the X Files is a documentary.

Biggins should have stayed.

He said he had a problem with bisexuals yet was married to a woman himself. He said he believed some theory about aids being a man made disease. He made crass jokes about the holocaust.

Give the man the rope and let him hang himself. He's entitled to his opinions, no matter how much anyone disagrees with them. These are not reasons to be booted out of CBB. They are reasons to be voted out.

Channel 5's handling of this whole thing has been a total farce. Viewers are left utterly confused by the whole thing.
The fact that we didn't know he'd even had one warning until tonight speaks volumes. This is exactly the sort of stuff they should be putting in the highlights show. I'm sure they could cut 5 minutes of the snogging morons for that.

Did you notice that they hurriedly brought in Lewis to issue a warning for the whole Marnie bullying thing that happened a ruddy week ago just so we didn't go "Hang on a minute!"

Their decision not to air at least an edited or bleeped version of the whole concentration camp business is totally spineless.

Yes, I suspect that maybe it wasn't a ''fake'' after all. Damage limitation comes to mind!

apparently the comment he made about "having a shower" to Katie, the way he did was the final straw and offcom were bombarded with complaints. one of which was from Katie's mother, apparently, was the final straw and after the other warning he had, which weren't shown, they had no option.
